Firefox and Yahoo Games

Whenever i play games in Yahoo Games, firefox never closes correctly. I have to go in Task Manager and manaully end the firefox process. I have tried updating Java, inwhich did not work

I have the same exact problem! The only way I have gotten it to work so I didn't need to close it via Task Manager was to open a new tab, load my home page, and then on the Yahoo Games screen, I will click the home button and it would leave the page. That of course, only works aobut 60% of the time. At this point, whenever I play at Yahoo Games, I already know I will have to manually close the browser.

Didn't know Yahoo had games to play online but decided to check out the problem. Not sure which games your talking about but I logged in and played Spades. I didn't encounter any problems playing the game or exiting the game/browser. I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.6 with Sun Java 2 Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_07-b03)

im not trying to you know spam for another site or anything but you should give www.pogo.com a try. i used to use yahoo games a while ago until i found this site. the graphics are better, and they have more games. free of course. check it out.

i use pogo, but my mom likes yahoo games (this problem is on her computer)

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.6 along with the newest Java released today (Java5 update 8).

After updating to java5 update 8, yahoo games no longer loads as if there is no java

Well, apparently, after updating to Java5 Update 8, Firefox closes normally :huh:

Guess the update fixed it, at least for me.

Well, usually I find Firefox has memory leaks because of Yahoo! Games then. This usually occurs on Yahoo! Pool but if the update has fixed it then that's great.
