5 Firefox extensions you can't live without

Recommended Posts

There are so many plugins that are currently available for Firefox that the mind boggles. A lot of the new web 2.0 sites today provide custom Firefox extensions that enhance functionality to a point that not having a properly configured Firefox browser is a distinct disadvantage.

I have profiled the 5 most critical Firefox extensions that I think are a requirement to use Firefox the way it was meant to be.

http://www.neobinaries.com/NewsBlog/tabid/...ve-without.aspx

Each extension is fully profiled, with a complete guide on how to install them, customize them based on your requirements, how to use them and excellent screenshots!!

Your inputs are most welcome

Yeah, I dont use any of them either, and I've been using firefox for years.

Adblock, Tab Browser Prefs, customise google, chatzilla, pdf download, and IEView/IETab are essentials for me.

I guess the rule is that everyone's is difference, hence the use of 'extensions' rather than being forced to include features that nobody uses

GAViN,

Would love to know your 5 firefox extensions you can't live without

ElectricDemon,

Good 5 extensions you have listed.

I use them all too, but i think these 5 are essentials, without which for me, browsing wouldn't be an experience.

But i think i should add Adblock to the list too :)

Hey

Thank you foryou inputs. I think i should now come up with a part two of the guide with Adblock featuring in them.

I wonder what is wrong with the forum...i had some error posting the message yesterday and now in the "Last Action" column it is not showing my post.

So i wonder if my previous reply is visible to all...So here it is again:

ElectricDemon,

Good 5 extensions you have listed.

I use them all too, but i think these 5 are essentials, without which for me, browsing wouldn't be an experience.

But i think i should add Adblock to the list too :)

My top 5 would be (in no particular order):

1. Adblock Plus (with whitelist updater)

2. ColorZilla (for web design)

3. Web Developer (for web design)

4. Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer (I don't know how I ever lived without this one)

5. Gmail notifier (just a time saver)

I'm a web developer, so most of the extensions I have and use are development related:

1) DOM Inspector

2) ColorZilla

3) HTML Validator*

4) Web Developer Toolbar*

5) Adblock*

6) Adblock Filterset.G Updater*

7) Firebug*

8) Greasemonkey

9) CSSViewer

10) View Source Chart

11) UI Tweaker

The 5 I marked with *'s are the ones I couldn't live without.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
