I don't use or need any of those. If we're going to talk about the essentials for Firefox I would think you at least have to include Adblock Plus and IE View Lite or IE Tab.

My 5 Essential Extensions:

- Adblock Plus

- DownThemAll

- IE View Lite

- Bug Me Not

- Image Toolbar

Others:

- Show Image

- Video Downloader

I don't use any of those five and I have no plans to use them either. Most extensions just add to the bloat factor.

The only thing that I consider essential is NoScript. Beyond that I like PDF Download because I hate it when I get directed to a PDF without a prompt (but it isn't essential).

In order of importance:

1) AdBlock Plus (+ filterg.updater)

2) MouseGestures

3) IETab

4) TabMixPlus

5) CustomizeGoogle

6) GooglePreview

7) TargetAlert

8) Dictionary Tooltip

9) FasterFox

10) ChatZilla

Things I can't live without. (my ****ty blog)

Did you know with MouseGesture if you highlight an address that isn't a link then perform the "go to link in new tab" gesture (usually right-click on link and drag up) it will automatically go to that address in a new tab? Pretty nice.

Looks good except the part when you tell people to turn off the prefetching. That does increase the bandwidth usage, not only for you but for all the poor webmasters who pay their hosting company for bandwidth used and then have to pay extra $$ just because you can't wait half a second for the page to load.

Do you know what this is? It's the smallest violin in the world playing just for the hosting companies.

Seriously though, anyone actually notice a difference with fasterfox because I don't.

Something else which seems to help speed the internet up in Firefox is this:

Type about:config into the address bar

then..

Then type pipe into the filter

then...

Change all the names values to true

then....

Change the Max requests value to 250
