Generic Host Process for Win32 Services error

heyy there,

Last night I formatted my computer after changing my motherboard, so I installed a fresh copy of WindowsXP SP2, but seems like im getting the following error after using my computer for ~20-40mins:

I tried the hotfix microsoft provided, yet...no hope...

can anyone advice me on what to do please?!

I might have been infected, since that I did not update my SP2 to the latest fixes right away, so any patch or fix for this problem?!

You may be getting infected with a worm. Did you leave the firewall enabled? Did you install all post-SP2 updates?

I got the same problem.. How to destroy the worm?

Yeah looks like i have same ****** worm prob. it disconnects my internet and does all kinds of weird things. no idea how to fix tho.

First of all, enable the Windows Firewall if you don't have another one running already. Then update your antivirus and run a full system scan.

Microsoft has a malware removal tool that automatically scans and cleans your system of some common worms.
