Rest of them systems we are using Winxp Professional as a DC users.Everything is going fine. But we are facing a little bit problem Users can not share folders. Is there any policy that we need to enable any solution will be appriciated.

i)Users are not getting Sharing and Security tab on file/folder properties.

ii)There is no error message.

Thanks for replay.

If their domain account is a member of the local Admin or Power users group, and still no share tab.. Check that the server services is started on their machine.

Curious why would you have users creating shares in the first place?? You do know there is a 10 connection limit on XP pro.. With 15 users, your going to run into issues if everyone wants to connect to the share that is on a XP machine.

Normally in a setup where you have moved to running AD, there would be a file server where users share files to and from.. This would allow for easy backup and control of data access. This could be the same machine as your DC.. And the network admin would create the shares and set permissions, etc..

Like budman said....

1. Check to see if the domain users group is in the local administrator group on each PC.

2. The concept of a Client/Server setup is to have the Server do the file sharing and all other services.

Create a folder on the server and named it U1 and have the user U1 copy his files in there and that way everyone with the right rights can access the data

Have fun!!!

Means it is not possible to Users Cann't get Sharing and Security tab on file/folder properties.

We need that.

Users that are atleast members of the "Power Users" group on the machine can create shares with no problem.. Who ever said it was not possible??

What Local group on the machine is the domain users account in? Put them in the "Power Users" group.

    • Wonder how these will be affected in terms of Bitlocker Auto encryption...
    • Huzzah, good job team. Hacking fingerprint support into it currently is... Suboptimal at best, so I hope this will be a game changer.

It combines intuitive tools with powerful features, making it easy to create, enhance, and manipulate images. Whether you're sketching or retouching photos, Pinta keeps things simple without sacrificing functionality. Compared to Microsoft Paint, Pinta includes more features, such as support for layers and multiple undo levels. While it’s not as powerful as GIMP or professional tools like Adobe Photoshop, it strikes a good balance between simplicity and functionality for everyday image editing. Draw stuff. Fix photos. Make cool things — super easy with Pinta. Whether you're editing a picture or just messing around, it’s fun and simple to use. Some of the main feature benefits of Pinta include: Multiple operating system support (Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X). Layering (most simple bitmap editors don't have this capability). This feature is available in programs like Photoshop and GIMP but Pinta’s system is more user-friendly for all levels of users. Layers help separate and group elements of an image for easy editing. Full history enabling users to experiment as you can always use the undo feature to easily to revert changes and actions. Customizable workspace. Multiple language support. Add-ins capability ( i.e. can write a custom brush). Has over 35 adjustments and effects for editing images.
