Hey frease, i have TRIED but stupid skinstudio ****s around with the margins because of the small white border you see..

This means skinstudio sets the buttons into the middle of the bar by default and i fussed arround with it to get it the way it is now,

BUT i will keep on trying and maybe i can find a solution to trick out SS4 ;)

Thanks for the comment, you were the first ;)

Couple suggestions:

1. Thinner taskbar, as previously mentioned.

2. Redesign the min-max-close buttons. They look too similar to Vista. Maybe taper the left and right ends so you get an overall shape resembling an elongated version of the shape in your desktop. Something like:

________

\_______\

Except, you know, with more curves.

3. Maybe try something other than a pixel font. Perhaps the font used in your VISION.ZERO wallpaper might look nice.

Will not take too long i guess, max. 2-3 weeks ?

Thats all i can say, you might understand how it is. ;)

It also depends on what features i will opionaly add,

i think i will make a white version which could take a bit longer...

I like the min, max, close buttons too as they are and glad that you like them,

Hmmm... I actually like the taskbar size... You're probably gonna be split down the middle on this one. I recommend, if you want, to make thin and thick substyles.

Keep it up - you're work is great - However - don't forget the file operation animations like you did with NovumOS...

Haha.. yes i am not going to forget about that.. but since Novum didnt have its own icons it was harder ;)

Hi People,

the taskbar is now actualy SMALLER than in the first preview and the most comments refer to the first screenshot, hope you like ti better now.

I myself think its now perfect the way it is !

I would'nt worry too much about the taskbar... How about you concentrate on how *you* want it... People that wanna use the completed skin once it's available (hint: that's me) will d/l it, people that don't... won't.

Let's be honest here... thin taskbar's look really pretty in screenshots, but, they're completely impractical if you use your desktop for anything else other than staring at it...

I'd also like to mention a small bug I spotted in Novum, the hover text and and the normal text on taskbar items were different sizes... I dunno if this is intended or not, but it was a little difficult to get used to.

Anyway, looking forward to this release :) ETA?

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.
