Surprised not to see anything on this already.

2 - 0 up after 15mins

Crouch got the first and Gerrard with a nice finish for the second.

Andorra basically reflecting their ranking and not testing us too much, can't remember the ball being in our half much let alone a shot on goal.

Any half-time predictions guys? I reckon we could get at least another 2 by half-time.

3 - 0 now, Defo.

The English team is finally getting their act together. This really shows that Sven was a really lousy coach.

Well, then again, winning against Andorra is no big feat. Let's see how they do against Holland, France, Germany, Italy, etc. Then and only then can you say that McClaren has really changed England.

Some people are getting carried away just because we won 5-0.

I mean, Andorra have only won one competitive match in their history, so we should expect nothing less than a 5-0 win! I think that McClaren is a better manager than Sven though, as he seem's to be better with tactic's.

Seriously, they are literally a pub team. The performance was ok but nothing incredible, I really hope that having a new manager isn't just recreating the idea that a new start means we can suddenly become the best in the world. I agree it's exciting and we should be better with the team we have, but people need to have a bit of a reality check too.

yes a win against a soccer power-house like Andorra really proves that England are now a force to be reckoned with

It's not that they are not reckoned with, eh? Where was Pakistan at the WC 2006? Oh, they didn't even make it to Germany...what a shame...

After all, England has always been a team that posed major threats in football, just like Italy, France, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany. You are right, I don't see Andorra here, neither I do Pakistan, so stop making lousy sarcastic comments.

That was nice and mature.

He actually had a point and just because Pakistan don't have a big team doesn't suddenly mean his comments are lousy and sarcastic. People need to put the win into perspective.

Andorra were pretty poor but what do you expect from them, they were part timers against quality players in the England side. I still thought they could have tried to take on England instead of just setting back the whole game. We could have scored more goals aswell.

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
