First PS3 Game box art

Recommended Posts

I dunno, the "PLAYSTATION 3" part is about the width of the spine of a DVD case. Is Sony stupid enough to replace every spine with the PLAYSTATION 3 logo/font, thus rendering any form of basic alphabetical organization useless?

"PLAYSTATION 3" is on the front, not the spline. The spline will still have the game title.

The logo position doesn't bother me at all, but the font is a different story..

First thing I noticed and instantly hated about the appearance of the PS3 was the font :x

Overall the box looks a bit...well..boring :/

QFT.

I just dont like it, somethings 'off'. Maybe the picture is too plain and boring?

It's like someone lost a creative gene and tried to make up for it by moving away from the norm and putting the logo on the vertical. Makes it feel like a hand-held game box or something. Bleh, I guess they didn't want it to clash with the Blu-Ray logo that goes across the top, but it's underwhelming.

I like the IGN logo on the boob, though. (Y)

i dont see why the bluray logo has to be sooooooo big, i mean look at current gen games including PS2 and Xbox, and next-gen (Xbox360) they have "DVD" written on them but its quite small. Maybe sony are trying to make a point hehehe Blu-Ray is Big ;)

Like others here I also dislike the Spiderman font. I know Sony owns the intellectual property, but it's almost like they didn't even want to try. "Hey, Spiderman is popular right now, let's just make it look like that!" It needs its own identity, not to have people remember Spiderman when they see it.

Yeah I doubt it's real. But looks cool.

And sorry to be one of those grammatical monkeys but Mojo it's spine not spLine

Yeah I realise I made a typo, but by the time I noticed you couldn't edit it, so meh. Deal with it. Spline sounds cooler anyway.

I've gotten over the Spiderman font just like I've gotten over the name 'Wii'.

Haha, cool

I swear you're obsessed with final fantasy, not thats thats a bad thing, FF rocks, just pointing it out :D

Belive it or not, I've never played it!

It looks so awesome, though, and I liked Square Enix's other games.

To show you I'm not obsessed, here's Fight Night Round 3:

Most games cases that have the console name on the side (Nintendo DS, Dreamcast, etc) face the same way too.

Here's a mockup I made though:

that is correct i believe it so it is easyer to read when looking at the spine of the case because we read left to right... it goes like that on all official ps2 cases.

    • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
