We are proud to present:

Vista Icon Pack v3 System patch

by Kudesnick & Aero Live

Vista Icon Pack v3 patches even more icons than Vista Icon Pack v2. It also got a lot of new features like patch bootscreen, logonscreen, it even got an Auto-Update function! (all components are optional and don't have to be installed) If you guys want to know why the development took so long, take a look at the changelog. It is online at the Vista Icon Pack website, so you can see what we have done all those days ;).

If you already have VIP 2.1 installed, install 3.0 over it in Safe-Mode. I uninstalled 2.1 first and had a lot of problems with icons. I reinstalled 2.1 then 3.0 over the top of 2.1 all in Safe-Mode and all is fine now. I didn't install any of the options as of yet. The installer is very easy to use and all of the options can be chosen individually. This is a list of files changed.

If you have already ran the v3.0 patch and notice some of your icons have changed back. This may be why. Microsft has released KB921398 also known as MS06-045 on Windows Update. As part of this update is a new shell32.dll 6.0.2900.2951. This means all of the icons in shell32.dll will change back to XP. If this happens you will have to run the patch again in Safe-Mode to change the icons back to Vista.

erm i have some problems with this.

i didnt like the bootup screen and logon screen and uninstalled it

however, the bootup and logon screen didnt change.. =(

how do i revert back to window's default logon and bootscreen

thx

Did you install and uninstall in safe mode?

Please don't respond in this topic, but via the bug reporter application. I can't check the forums that much as my mail and the topic gets unclear if everyone posts their problems here.

-Aero Live?

did anyone come up with a problem of progress.exe come up with a virus with nod32 in the vipv3 folder in the windows directory?

"C:\WINDOWS\VIPv3\Progress.exe"

and

"C:\WINDOWS\VIPv3\Resources\Progress.exe"

It might just be my comp?

This is a list of files changed.

Is that the complete list of files that have been modified by *all* versions of Vista Icon Pack?

Does that just extract the modified files to a folder or does it actually install them, overwritng the XP system files?

the Devlopers pack is just resourses (images and icons) from vista. it doesnt modify anything, it just extracts to a folder.
