how to set WEP key or password on my router

Recommended Posts

This has been driving me craaaazy!!!! I mean, I already posted here, asking how to set a password on my

US Robotics router, but, it didn't work!!!!! I believe that D-Link has this WEP key, which is at least secure, can I set something like that???? Seriously, I think people have been using my Wireless connection, the internet has been slowing up lately! So may I please know how to set a password or WEP or any securing way to prevent people from using my Internet connection.

My Router model is:

USR8054

Thanks in advance!

did you check the mannual?

He was already pointed to the EXACT page on on his routers interface to setup security back in Aug.

I also pointed you to the EXACT location in your routers manual on how to secure your wireless http://www.usr.com/support/8054/8054-ug/th...tml#WirelessWEP

But no I doubt he bothered to read any of it..

What do you NOT understand about setting up wireless security? You want WPA-PSK, with a STRONG password.. NOT WEP.

Why do you feel someone is using your wireless? Have you setup security? As stated in the previous thread -- You need a STRONG password, if I can guess what the password is - I can get on your network, does not matter what level of encryption you use.
