artificiallife
Err... no. ?Bitmaps are not the same as icons. They don't have to be. The ".ico" file type extension changes the type of file. You might want to try it before you assume it doesn't work...;)) I wouldn't recommend this method, however, because mspaint does not support transparency. Changing the file extension only changes what Windows Explorerthinks> the file is. Sure, Explorer will accept bitmaps instead of icons in many circumstances, but that doesn't change the fact that icons and bitmaps are different. Try renaming an ".avi" file to ".mpg"; it still works fine, right? So has the AVI changed into an MPEG? Of course not. JaxeN
Axialis iconworkshop changes png's to ico Ok i downloaded this program and successfully converted a couple of png to ico one at a time. Is there a faster way to convert a whole collection of pngs in a folder instead of manually doing it one at a time? Hawk999
http://www.irfanview.com/english.htm It's freeware. Start up the program, go to "File"|"Batch conversion/Rename| Load all your files into the conversion windows and your set to go! :) Take care to define your output directory. Succes!!
