Hmm ..This STEAM account does not own this game ..

Did anyone ever have a problem with STEAM (legal version) which results in the message (while playing DoD: Source) and a disconnect later ?

"This Steam account does not own this game."

I stress the fact that I have a LEGAL version of the game (can even prove it to some unbelievers - I still have the picture of the transaction confirmation) but the message suggests that STEAM thinks I have illegal one.

Everything worked perfectly for the last 2 years - and now this ..

Try logging out of your steam account and exit steam. Open steam and log back in.

Just a few minutes ago, I got disconnected from a server i was playing on and i got the attached message. Since then every server gives me the same message. WTF!!

I run game servers for CS:S (I am a GSP) and everyone is complaining of the same thing. Don't worry about it.

been happening alot in the server i always go in to my friends but it hasnt happend to me yet .. also i noticed this afternoon Vac was playing up.

Update: I updated a few customers servers, and it seemed to work. Its a problem of outdated servers.

ya I'm having this same problem... Wanted to get on here and play DoD and got that error message. I was ****ed until I ran across this thread. steampowered.com is sloooooooooow right now so I can't even post in their forum or anything. errrrrg

Yeah I've been getting this even just playing Garry's Mod. Pretty annoying...

I never got that message. Although I got kicked off of steam for various other reasons. "Someone is using your account", "Could not verify your account", "Unknown error!" FUN (Y)

I'm starting to get worried about my Steam account. I dual boot Windows and Linux, and have Half Life installed on both, legally. Recently though it started saying, "This account has been used on another computer, please re-enter your login details". I wonder if this will cause any issues later.

I've tried once more and was able to play DoD:S for a few hours. Not sure if it won't happen again on another server. I wonder if it's a server issue or client's issue or Steam's database fault (as GuJu mentioned).

Steam forums and EsportsEA forums are full of this same error. It's going around.
