Beat Fable 2 in less than 10 hours. I will hit 75k soon enough.

I'm close to the end, but once I realized that I started avoiding the main storyline and started on side quests. Pretty disappointing how short the game is. It has some really fun achievements though, I'm having a good time cheevo hunting. More devs need to take inspiration from games like Fable 2 and Dead Rising for fun achievements.

I did some side quests but kept on the track of the main story (never played Fable 1). I was not ignoring them either though. I was not so much disappointed with the story being short but I had mixed feelings on the ending. I still think it is a great game though, still playing. I need to start a new game because I knew I should of done the obvious but did not. Which was shut the system off or go to dashboard when I choose 1 of the 3 wishes.

Achievement Tip for Fable 2: If you do not want to replay the story once or twice more after having done so, after you choose 1 of the 3 wishes. Go to dashboard or shut your system off. Turn on, choose another wish, rinse and repeat once more or another time to get the wish you really want which can be avoided if you do the wish you really want, last. :)

With this seasons lineup of games? You betcha. I'm gonna do my part, I plan on breaking 40K by Christmas. Actually, I take that back, i'll break 40K by December 1st.

right on rook, that's the spirit! :santa:

and with that in mind, i declare my intention to make 30K by New Year's. it'll take a lot of time and good ale, but it can be done. if i fail, which i will, i'll have to get seriously plastered to forget about it all.

EDIT: it's called chickening out ok, give me a break!

Thanks, but in my defense, I haven't had the 360 for even eight months or so and in order to keep my sanity, I typically avoid the the gamer's hangout :p

Wow, I just found this thread. Some of you guys are pretty into this. I'm not much help but I added myself anyway. I'll have to play to actually try to get some points sometime. I'm mainly big on the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games now, but I usually just play quick play. I could rack up some points quick if I played through them on easier levels. I only play Expert so I've never gotten points for beating anything lower. You'd think beating it on a hard level should give you points for the easier levels too.

Oh, I'll toss this on here too:

Feel free to add me if you'd like.

Just for the hell of it I'll make a goal of 5k for the end of the year. I have a bunch of games that I barely have any points on.

yes, welcome to those who joined! betaz, don't worry about your score, that's not what counts, it's the discipline, fun and camraderie we're here for, although most of these lazy bums tend to forget that on a regular basis. i tell you they're like gaming's very own school of gold fish. they post here in seven second bursts then slink away. they really do.

no i'm messing with you, it's all good. whatever you can contribute is sweet. but make sure it's never less than five hundred a week or you'll be answering to me.

Well I'm up over 38K now, just finished Fable 2 (for now) and I'm on to Fallout 3. I really want to play some Far Cry 2, but two great RPGs back to back really drained my free time. I need to take a vacation so I can just game for a week.

Haha, forget just this thread. That's about how all my posting has been on Neowin recently period. I hadn't been to Neowin in ages, then stopped by for some reason one day and realized that it suddenly became one of the best looking sites on the internet. I'm going to have to try to stick around more again.

Anyway, my birthday is Sunday so I took Friday and Monday off, so I've got a nice 4 day weekend. I'll see how much of a boost I can get this weekend. :D

congrats to rookas and let's see how much betaz can pull...time off work is good for gaming, hope you guys can get some. heck i'm hoping to take the next month off, which will mean plenty of gaming time.

And more drunk PM's?

Classic :p

Haha, I ended up taking the time off and spending almost no time at home. I've hit a few songs on Guitar Hero, but that's about it. And the rest of the day doesn't look much more open. Oh well. I still want to hit 5k by the end of the year though.

well munky, in my time of inebriation all those real feelings came out

don't know about more of the same, it has to be spontaneous plus you have to perform...

i expect great things from both ynnoj and underoath - or else!

betaz it's always like that, time off means all the stuff you've been avoiding needs to get done, especially so called social obligations, whatever that means. the challenge is to look them in the eye and just go "no, i'm Far Crying 2 tonite, so there."

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
