Luxor 2

Sega Superstar tennis (whatever it's called)

Feeding Frenzy

is what I'm working on until Thursday night!

Luxor 2.... I just finished playing that game for good so that I could bring balance back to my gamerscore. Thanks the OCD in me, I couldn't accept a score that didn't end in 0 or 5.

It's sad, I bought puzzle fighter just because it had a 7 point achievement for the same reason. OCD FTW!

gotta say both Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2, although very enjoyable games, are lousy for achieves...oh well, i may not make 30K as planned by the end of the year. let's see if 28K is possible. any news from other people?

With Mirrors Edge, World at War, L4D, Gears and a few others, you'll make it. I don't know how many of those you plan to play, but I expect to be well on my way to 50k by the end of the year. I'll make my "40K by 12/1" goal very easily.

welcome, Andrew, and thanks for joining the club.

rookas, i thank you for the encouragement, let's hope you're right. of those you mentioned, only L4D isn't on the list...yet. tuesday should be the last batch for me...COD, Mirror's Edge, Red Alert 3. so you're thinking 50K for you by year end? wow, ambitious, i like!

and congrats to DM for finally making 12K. i think last time he turned a digit we were still talking about Bioshock.

It probably was yeah lol. I have a pile of games to get through since then :/ and not enough time..

great hearing from you Jordan, you should post and help rally the troops more often. and welcome to Brad, although not sure about that avatar...oh well, sack boy's pretty cute. but that name...

time is always against us. there's never enough and we're always running out. so can't help you with that jonny - just think of it like this, in a hundred years, our collective gamin days will be long over

forget that and just focus on all these great titles we have here. like i told munky, this is a freakin gamegasm.

so no matter how many points you contribute, it's all good - the holidays are almost upon us!

Jesus, I am completely smashed, I spent the entire week-end playing Gears of War 2 but I crawled back to 13th

The worst thing about that I ordered GoW2 from Amazon.co.uk because I prefer to play my game in English (and I really hate those French traductions made by school-boys and 3rd rate voice actors).

It turns out that UPS has somehow lost the package or it fell from the truck.

On Saturday, I bought a game from a local store and it turned out that the English track is also on the dvd sold in France, so no need to bother ordering from the UK and the game is almost welded in the drive.

Still, I am so going Hammer of Dawn Style on UPS butts.

Gosh, I really need conselling.

no counseling needed my friend, you're entitled to your fun, this is the festive season after all. congrats on 33K btw, and didn't know the French versions were done by schoolboys heh heh.

anyhoo, 13th place is pretty good - look at me, stuck there below neyo, that never-poster. arrrggghh.

seriously, i was this close to giving up on it - it's so trial and error, you need to do jumps fifty times before you get them right...but it's a gorgeous game anyway.

have to say this is the most gaming bliss i can recall - there's so much to enjoy, i'm pretty sure we'll still be playing all this come Easter.

At least, I doubt I'll even get to Far Cry 2 by then. I've still got Mirrors Edge and Left 4 Dead to pick up, and gamefly finally shipped Dead Space today. My PS3 is getting ignored right now, and I recently bought 3 new games for it that I haven't played yet. I've probably spent around $300 in the last month on games. I don't know why I have to buy them when they're new when I know I won't have time to play them all, just a compulsion I guess.

I remember everyone saying that the 2007 lineup could not be topped, but personally I think 2008 has been a much better year all round. There's just so much to play.

jonny the jury is still out on 2007 vs 2008. i think it's just that this time it's over a shorter span - pretty much everything came out mid Oct to mid Nov whereas last year it took four months. however, for us Gears 2 is a deciding factor which wasn't there a year ago, while for those with the other console Resistance 2 fills that niche.

Rookas, why are you feeling conscious of this? it's not like you're buying heroin off a pusher, they're totally legit entertainment products. don't feel bad, you're not addicted, it's called being a hobbyist and it's a good thing. at least we're passionate about something.

    • Outlook classic is inherently better than new outlook, for a number of reasons. That said, if the only reason people need office is to read email, they should just use thunderbird.
    • Windows 11 is a big thumbs down from me. I used for a period of a few days while it was in insider and windows 10 was the main OS, and realised it wasn't for me. I am still waiting for Windows to be tolerable again, a shame as at one point I was very pro Microsoft.
    • Classic outlook, not only does it have a much fuller feature set, it doesn't include Microsoft attempting to sync my emails from my servers to theirs. If classic outlook is ever removed from office, and the version I paid for in 2021 stops working for some reason, I'll use Thunderbird.
    • Kdenlive 26.04.2 by Razvan Serea Kdenlive is an acronym for KDE Non-Linear Video Editor. It works on GNU/Linux, Windows and BSD. Through the MLT framework, Kdenlive integrates many plugin effects for video and sound processing or creation. Furthermore Kdenlive brings a powerful titling tool, a DVD authoring (menus) solution, and can then be used as a complete studio for video creation. Kdenlive supports all of the formats supported by FFmpeg or libav (such as QuickTime, AVI, WMV, MPEG, and Flash Video, among others), and also supports 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios for both PAL, NTSC and various HD standards, including HDV and AVCHD. Video can also be exported to DV devices, or written to a DVD with chapters and a simple menu. Video editing features: Multi-track editing with a timeline and supports an unlimited number of video and audio tracks. A built-in title editor and tools to create, move, crop and delete video clips, audio clips, text clips and image clips. Ability to add custom effects and transitions. Audio signal processing capabilities include normalization, phase and pitch shifting, limiting, volume adjustment, reverb and equalization filters as well as others. Visual effects include options for masking, blue-screen, distortions, rotations, colour tools, blurring, obscuring and others. Configurable keyboard shortcuts and interface layouts. Rendering is done using a separate non-blocking process so it can be stopped, paused and restarted. Kdenlive also provides a script called the Kdenlive Builder Wizard (KBW) that compiles the latest developer version of the software and its main dependencies from source, to allow users to try to test new features and report problems on the bug tracker. Project files are stored in XML format. An archiving feature allows exporting a project among all assets into a single folder or compressed archive. • Here's how to watch the Xbox Games Showcase today and what to expect by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The June games showcase week has been a packed one, with everything from major presentations like Sony and Summer Game Fest to indie-focused reveals coming in almost every day. Now, it's almost time for another big one, with Microsoft bringing its Xbox Games Showcase back later today. This is a double feature too, with a Gears of War E-Day deep dive also being attached to it. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase is kicking off at 10 AM PT | 1 PM ET | 6 PM BST | 7 PM CEST later today, June 7. The event will be available to watch on the official Xbox YouTube (4K 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, Steam, Amazon Live, and other portals. Separate livestreams for American Sign Language and Audio Description will also be available. "This year marks 25 years of XBOX, and this Showcase is poised to be a true celebration, offering world premieres, new gameplay, fresh updates, and more for a swathe of projects we cannot wait to share," said Microsoft about this presentation. With a new CEO behind it that is pulling off some interesting moves, Xbox may have some surprises to reveal today. New looks at first-party games like Halo Campaign Evolved from Halo studios, Fable from Playground Games, InXile Entertainment's Clockwork Revolution, Mojang's Minecraft Dungeons II, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward are to be expected here. We may finally get to see the new Blade from Arcane Studios in action and a new Persona game from Atlus at the showcase too. Surprise announcements may also arrive from other Microsoft-owned studios like Bethesda, MachineGames, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Rare, World's Edge, or Blizzard. Considering how every new release nowadays is staying away from November and December to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI's release, any launch dates Microsoft announces will probably skip those months as well. Once the Xbox Games Showcase ends, Microsoft will immediately kick off the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. This deep dive into the upcoming prequel from The Coalition should attach gameplay footage and perhaps a release window to the highly anticipated project.
