the jury is still out on 2007 vs 2008.

I think 08 wins. 2007 had Bioshock, CoD4, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed. Several others also, but nothing that big. 2007 was supposed to have GTA 4 and Splinter Cell Conviction also, those games would've made it a tough year to top. I think this year topped it.

I see it like this:

Halo 3 vs Gears 2: I'll give it to Gears, though both brought something new and exciting to box Live. (Horde and Forge)

CoD4 vs CoD5: 4 FTW, no contest.

Mass Effect + Blue Dragon vs Fable 2 + Fallout 3: No contest, Mass Effect was great but Blue Dragon wasn't. Fable and Fallout are both very good games.

Assassin's Creed vs Mirrors Edge: I'll let you know once I play Mirror's Edge, but it's not getting the bad press that AC got so that's something.

Bioshock is a tough one to match up, and it would win most matchups anyway.

So by the numbers 07 was better until we bring in Far Cry 2, Dead Space, Left 4 Dead, Tomb Raider and Prince of Persia. I know I've spent a lot more money than I did last year, and I'm not done yet! And Neoadorable, I don't feel bad about it, I'm in gaming heaven!

nice analysis, but you discounted several titles that were still big, at least for me. Kane & Lynch and Ace Combat 6, for example. but you may be right, in the end 2008 may come out on top. however, i think you're wrong about COD, this one is better than 4. the MP is just as good only with better maps, and the SP is for sure meatier - both action and content. i mean it's the first COD with the F word in it, that's an automatic fore in my book.

well fellas, am hitting the road again for the next few days so no gaming for me, i hope to be back soon. this is a perfect opportunity for neyo to break away from me for good, and don't slack the rest of you. keep it up!

I'd have said 2007, sorry.

Call Of Duty 4 (Infinity, the only way to play COD!) and Bioshock clinched it by a mile.

Sure GTA IV was great but COD5 and GOW2 seem pretty boring games and I won't be bothering with them.

Just my 2 cents. :)

as for you echo, finally you tore down the wall. i'm not being sarcastic now, isn't your score actually LOWER than before? wtf? i thought you were at 17K or something.

i think we're on track to some major tallies by the end of the year...i won't make 30K, but 28 should be fine. as a group we are doing quite well.

time to set up some COD matches, so drop me a line if you want in.

I'm down. I've started finishing all of these other games so now I'll start to play more and more COD. I unlocked the Zombie Nazi mode yesterday and it's a lot of fun, definitely need 4 people for that.

I might be hitting the 30,000 mark this week if I finish up some achievements for GoW2 and Mirror's Edge. I need to even out this stupid gamerscore looks bad.

Marathon, Puzzle Quest and Mortal Kombat all have odd numbered achievements that are pretty easy to obtain. It all depends on how much even numbers are worth to you!

I own MK so that's a no go. Marathon seems to be a good choice. Isn't that 400 points or 800? Puzzle Quest = never even heard of it.

Actually, I mistyped. Puzzle Quest doesn't have odd number achievements, I meant Puzzle Fighter. I can't remember the price of Marathon and I can't check because I've already purchased it. I believe it's only 400 though, might be wrong. I seem to recall a price drop a while back.

Almost at that 30k now. Been playing some CoD4 and got the Mile High Club achievement ah that was a great feeling to get. I should hit it by tonight we shall see though.

man that achievement is definably something to be proud of cherish it for life! lol
