hey Rob, so how long exactly did you have Brink for? all of two days or something like that? must have been one excellent game...

It is. :) Just not hard to 1k. I just haven't been bothered to finish up the maps on VS to snag that last one. And with LAN out now, it's gonna wait even longer.

full 1K on Portal 2? that i have to admire. nice one.

hey Jonny, BC2 SP? 2010 called, it would like to move on, please, if you don't mind. heh heh BTW whatever happened with your car, did you get a new one with the insurance claim? don't ask me why that came to mind now of all times! i'll prob start talking about your mono next

hey slane, what's the next big game for you, after your apparent love for Brink? i'm personally looking forward to FEAR3, everything i'll be playing on either the PS3 or PC...what the hell has become of me!

well, welcome to the thread, where have you been all this time? and there's no luck involved, just perseverence and consistency...just keep gaming if you enjoy it and that gamerscore will go up on its own. there's no magic or secret to it. of course there is the odd shortcut a la certain games we don't speak of around here, but those are by now ancient history. anyway, keep at it and that 5K will soon be behind you...oh the memories...5K gamerscore..the heady days of spring 2007...

yeah, harder for me to get achievements since i got no gold (saved up money to buy 3ds) im only a school student (actually grade 9), lol and one my friend's gamerscore was reset since he was modifying it, sucks to be him... I only got my xbox in october of last year...

yes, renting definitely helps. as for your friend, well, modding has its risks, he knew that. at any rate, the score will come with the games if you play consistently. you've only had your 360 for eight months or so, 5K is about right.

Working on LA Noire atm. Once I finish that, I'll go and finish that last cheevo in Brink. Then probally continue to work on Just Cause 2 and/or Phantasy Star. Finish both of 'em off before starting another game.

You should set up a rental account online if you can.

I get my games from the local library ($12 a year membership) unlimited take outs, the only games which I own are Forza 3, portal 2, Halo 3 and ODST and MX vs atv alive

He did know, he even got Gears of War 3 illegally, the flash drive thing... right now taking a small break from xbox to enjoy my 3DS

yeah where is this so-called library? twelve bucks for unlimited rentals? is this a public library literally? some of them do game rentals, yes, but it's almost impossible to get the games you want on time. otherwise, i'm not sure what kind of deal you got going on over there...

Well, its the edmonton public library, in Edmonton Canada its free for people upto 17 or something (i am under that age) but my parents do pay..

its called the edmonton public library

yes it is possible to get the games, you can place holds, you can place as many holds as you want but only 5 gaming titles can be checked out at once...

Thats amazing value, do they have a good selection?

You could say that, they keep adding new titles, they have brink, portal 2 loads of kinect games about 180 titles, but remember, they keep on adding new titles like every second week or so...

Damn, the most I get from my libary is DVD's from about 2 years ago. :(

Wish I had could get games for less than a month membership of Gamefly.

Our library here is good, but the only bad part about it is you can only borrow it for 1 week at a time, you can renew the take out online, but provided the title has no holds...

wow that is one hell of a public library, i'm moving to Canada. the one i used to go to when back home is in Schaumburg, IL, and that one has a good selection of movies and some games last i checked, but forget about getting new ones. the line's from here to the moon.

Lol, just for games and such? Real good choice. /sarcasm

BTW, cant wait for tommorow (MAY 24), the library should be adding dirt 3 to their list...

Speaking of xbox games, these arcade titles, doritos crash course, harms way, and aegis wing are free on xbox live.

I know most people know this but just putting it out there...

Finally completed the original Dead Space, I know its taken me a while but I managed to get 815 Points out of it. I'm only missing 5 achievements but I don't think I'm going to do a second play through on Insane, although I am slightly tempted as I did really enjoy playing it.

That takes me to 101,797 GamerScore

Onto GTA IV DLC - Had both of these sitting on my HDD for far too long time to play them, hopefully be able to get the full 500 Points from them.

the DLC for GTA IV won't be easy as i recall. and about time you did Dead Space 1, jeez, three years ago almost...

SteelToast, thanks for the reminder, i think most people here have already played those. some of them were actually good, namely Crash Course and the one with the dinosaur...

Np :) crash course is especially fun, but i got 120 gs from harms way in 2 min of playing, quite literally.

If you got an extra controller you can snag the rest yourself. Aegis wing is an mildly easy 180GS that last 20GS is a PITA. Never bothered with crash course though.

There should be another arcade game on there titled, Yaris, I wouldn't play it. It's alright, pretty good for a freebie, and achievements aren't so bad, spare the million credit one. Which takes hours upon hours to get, though with the stuck glitch it's, as most glitches do, made it ridiculously easier.

Thinking of picking up the D&D arcade title that released today. Though that 'Master of Arms' achievement could end up being a huge PITA.

    • That's (at least partially) on 7-zip; Nanazip (7-zip fork) adds itself properly to Context menus.

If you feel like you get a lot of value out of the site please do whitelist ads on the news articles, and/or consider getting a subscription, we offer two tiers, one at: $14 per year (support the site for just over a dollar a month) or the $28/year tier (just over $2/month) that disables advertising and affiliate link tracking throughout the site (so also on the news side). We also have a 'Buy us a coffee' page if you just want to make a one-time donation. I am not mincing words when I say it is becoming harder and harder to monetize publications like Neowin, it's a fact of life that when we can no longer afford to pay for everything we'll go like many other sites already have. It doesn't have to cost you anything There are other ways to support Neowin too, like posting on topic content in the forums (technical support/questions/helping others) and sharing our news articles.. this costs nothing but your time and is just as important as subscribing or making a monetary donation! Anyway thanks for your time and continued support of Neowin. Now in our 26th year, and hopefully many more! For all the lurkers out there that whitelist us, make a free member account, and see fewer (only inline) ads on the news side

It now looks like the same product, not a separate dashboard. Pairing is one tap and zero typing: the generated WebUI password is now copyable, and the QR code carries the credentials — scanning it from your phone logs straight in (no typing the IP or password), then drops the credentials from the address bar. Search Two new providers: RuTor (CIS sources, no login, via a public TorAPI relay) and Torrents-CSV. Results are sorted by seeders (healthiest first), and each search now times out after 15 s so one dead provider can't hang the UI. Files & trackers Per-file priority is back: right-click a file in the detail panel to set Skip / Low / Normal / High. Rename an individual file inside a torrent (double-click or the file menu), separate from renaming the torrent. Remove a tracker from a torrent (the ✕ on a tracker row); adding was already there. Smart Paste on Ctrl+V — paste a magnet, a 40-char info-hash, or a .torrent URL straight from the clipboard and it's added immediately (text fields still paste text normally). Covers & titles Anime fansub naming ([Group] Title - NN) now resolves to the right show. Audio channel layouts in titles (DDP5.1, 7.1, …) are stripped so they don't pollute cover matching. Under the hood The legacy QWidget interface is gone. QML had been the only UI since 3.0.0 (reachable old code lived behind a hidden --legacy flag); with parity confirmed, the entire QWidget layer — main window, every dialog, the theme manager — was removed (~13,400 lines). The four restored actions above were features that backend already supported but the QML port had never wired. macOS: the WebUI password hash moved out of the keychain into app settings, so launching the app no longer pops a login-keychain password prompt on unsigned builds. The actual password still lives in the keychain. Cleanup: ~400 orphaned translation strings and a batch of dead code removed; internal duplication collapsed; an ARCHITECTURE.md added for contributors. Unit / security / memory tests and the ASan/UBSan/TSan sanitizers stay green.
