First off... The cheek that Apple has for not even taking responsibility of their product (Blaming it on a contractor). If it has your brand on it, then you should take responsiblity for the positives and negatives associated.

And then they have the nerve to blame Windows for the virus (When a virus is a 3rd party application - when even on the same page, Apple say that they take no responsibility for 3rd party applications referring to the AntiVirus that they are recommending).

Apple make good products, but I've never liked that snobbish company. I don't know how much more I can hate the company before I say no more to their products. They truely are a snotty little company.

i guess .. its a stuck up company that "steals" ideas for there own.

Ok, let's get this straight:

The iPod that so many of us own, love and adore does not actually have a virus waiting in the wild, so to speak, ready to attack all of our precious music, videos and whatever else we can be bothered storing on one such iPod.

INSTEAD; *SOME* iPods *ship* with a virus that affects Windows based PC's, something rather different than the title implies.

Therefore, denizens, I conclude that the iPod (called so in the general mass-collective terminology) does not have a virus, and that you are all safe.

(For now... :shiftyninja: )

(Didn't Creative have an issue like this a while back?)

First they say it was on the iPods when they left the factory (which has happened to many companies), then they say about Windows (which is just stupid), then they say it was their fault they didn't catch it.

The whole contractor thing was them just explaining how the virus got onto the devices.

Apple, how desperate are you? Release an iPod that has a virus which only targets your competition and then blame the competition for it!

I'm so tired of these desperate tactics. Take responsibility for your own mistakes and stop blaming Microsoft for your screw up.

WTF dude? It "sucks you"?

Yeap..i was frustrated when i heard this news...Did i bought the mp3 player (iPod) with an Virus in it?....Too bad...(that too for a company which speaks "VIRUS" is an alien language for them...(steve jobs doesnt know how much patches are still there surrounding mac os!

I take you are another that doesn't actually bother to read the storys and deigned to miss the bit where it said they blamed themselves???

of course, that would get in the way of a good rant

That well may be true for some of the posters above, but Apple should have NEVER included this in their release:

we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses,

Very poor business tactics...

    • It is, but it also has a bad performance reputation even on high-end gaming PCs. Some people say it's the engine's fault, others say it's the games developers' fault, who knows... At the end of the day, for the average gamer, the take is this: PC game with Unreal Engine 5? Be affraid and cross your fingers, it's a 50/50 chance.
    • 25th anniversary Xbox Series X unveiled with classic translucent green design by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The Xbox Games Showcase had a new Xbox console reveal from Microsoft celebrating the gaming brand turning 25 years old. This is to be a new limited edition Xbox Series X and controller collection that draws on the design of the rare green version of the original Xbox console. The "XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition" is coming out later this year with its matching controller. "Inspired by the look and feel of the original XBOX console, both the console and controller feature a translucent OG Green design, with subtle tributes to the journey we’ve been on together," said Microsoft in the announcement. The Xbox Series X|S line has received several new variants over the years, but this will be the first edition with a translucent design. The Xbox Series X25 will have one terabyte of internal storage and a green light on the X to signify the console lines' history. There is a 25th anniversary logo printed on the front plate. Microsoft is also teasing that the community will be able to find "a few hidden surprises throughout" the machine as well. As for the new X25 Special Edition Xbox controller, this is also coming with the classic translucent green design for its front and back plates. "From the original ABXY colors, to the timeless green, every detail calls back to the beginning, including the bumpers honoring the original black and white buttons on the original “Duke” controller," says the company about this release. "The back case and battery door are fully transparent, revealing the classic XBOX logo." The XBOX 25th anniversary collection, containing both the translucent console and controller, will be available for purchase in November 2026 as a limited-edition release. Microsoft will be offering the new XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition separately as well. Pricing details and pre-order information will be coming later.
