turbomonkeycock
Just setup my E6600 system yesterday, everything booted fine first time, installed windows etc. Everything was fine as far as I could see Now today upon trying to connect to the internet I discovered that my onboard LAN isn't working. None of the lights are on so it's not getting any power by the looks of things, despite the fact it's showing as enabled in the BIOS Has anyone heard of similar problems with this mobo or any other asus mobos? I tried fitting an NIC but there are capacitors getting in the way so it looks like that isn't even a possible solution! It would really **** me off to have to RMA a motherboard over the LAN controller! Any help appreciated guys Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/504755-asus-p5b-e-lan-controller-problem/ Share on other sites
ccuk
Try uninstalling the device and reinstalling... also check for the latest drivers... Sophism
Make sure you installed the chipset drivers and the NIC drivers from the CD/website Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/504755-asus-p5b-e-lan-controller-problem/#findComment-587968628 Share on other sites
turbomonkeycock
All chipset drivers are installed from the CD that came with the mobo, and when attempting to install the drivers from the CD it says "Installer can't find attansic l1 ethernet controller on your system". When I install the drivers through the windows add hardware wizard it says "Code 10. The device cannot be started" Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/504755-asus-p5b-e-lan-controller-problem/#findComment-587968650 Share on other sites

turbomonkeycock
Not the right driver then... Will go and have a look for you... If you could that would be awesome, but it's the only driver I can find for it anywhere. It appears to be more than a driver issue or something :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/504755-asus-p5b-e-lan-controller-problem/#findComment-587969695 Share on other sites
ccuk
Try this driver... ftp://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/Attan...ic_V1437907.zip See if that helps... maybe also try disabling the LAN in the bios... booting up. Shutting down. Turn the LAN back on in the bios and then try reinstalling.
