what is carbon anyway?

:EDIT:

Carbon occurs in all organic life and is the basis of organic chemistry. This nonmetal also has the interesting chemical property of being able to bond with itself and a wide variety of other elements, forming nearly ten million known compounds. When united with oxygen it forms carbon dioxide, which is vital to plant growth. When united with hydrogen, it forms various compounds called hydrocarbons which are essential to industry in the form of fossil fuels. When combined with both oxygen and hydrogen it can form many groups of compounds including fatty acids, which are essential to life, and esters, which give flavor to many fruits. The isotope carbon-14 is commonly used in radioactive dating.

Dude... Do you live in a cave? :|

Ok i now think its perfect. Somehow i'm able to get high on all options, when my system sucks and I've perfected drifting, just takes practice. and a 360 PC controller ;)

God, I need one of those! Been meaning to since they came out.....

how on earth do u drift in this game? i get like 60-100 max per drift... the car is just waaay too sensitive and it drives like the handbrake is one continously.. its rediculous... i cant get pass this stage.. i always end up like 20k points behind the leader. :/

i tryed it on keyboard and it sucks drifting, so hard... whereas controller tis so easy with a sensitive touch, im now about to uninstall the game because i cant keep off it and its only a demo :p

Once I got used to it, it's awesome, and I'm using my kb  :D

I play with Most Wanted and I've installed the Carbon Demo and it's a huge let down. The quality and details of the cars and road is much lower than MW. Can't bring the demo to widescreen mode (1680x1050) by default in the Options tab, will need a hack....

And is it me or all the road feel icy? What ever you do, the car slip and slide all the time. So it IS required that you drift in this game. You can't drive fast and expect to turn a corner without loosing control of your car.

Customizing the cars is another let down from this demo. I much prefer the custom in MW.

Let just hope that all this is only "demo" quality and that the real game will be better. But this is a marketing bomb for EA.

After downloading the demo while reading those bad feedback about it, and installed, played it, I am going to have to agree with them :( This game really sucks. What's with the sudden turn of the car in drift mode. No subtitles? That is ****. Not really worth shelling out money for.

*Jason goes back and plays NFS Most Wanted. Ahh much better :D

I am a bit disappointed that there were no milestones in it. The NFS:MW demo had a milestone challenge so it's a bit sad it's not in there though it could be in the full game. Other than that, this Demo is quite solid, despite the notable flaws. I give it an 8/10.

Scirwode

There should be milestones in the real game. Like the MW demo, the Carbon demo doesn't show everything for the game.. or else why would you buy the game? Good to hear some postive comments for Carbon. I agree with you.

I don't have the worse of gaming systems (A64 3200+, 2 GB RAM, 7800 GT) and this game doesn't run well at all (FPS-wise) in 1280x1024 and at maximum detail (with no AA).

I turned each setting off one by one and noticed that changing the shader detail to Low boosted to FPS the most (and by a lot). Everything else can be kept at their maximum and I get a good framerate now.

Hope this helps everyone.

must be your CPU, my X2 3800 @ 2.6ghz plays the game like silk with everything on, except motion blur, with 4xAA and 8xAF.

Still coded like crap mind u.

    • While I agree with all that, it just proves there's an a** built for every seat.
    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.

    • hahahahah wow hahahah you sure got me there hahahahahah, you know that bad performance is always due to poor optimization by the developers, right???
    • "I know for a fact I'll never own one of these." This is why choice is better than government regulation. Globaly Android has something like 72% of the smartphone market. Granted the vast majority of that is low end phones. Apple can and should charge whatever they want. The market will decide if it is too much.
