I now have a ASP.NET Machine Account user on my windows log in. It is password protected along with my account being password protected (which it never was before)

Now that this is on there and I have NO idea what the password is, I can't log onto windows to delete the account. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do? I thank you in advance.

You can't login to the ASP.NET Machine Account. I don't know quiet why but its an Internal Account Like Help & Support and other accounts.

You can Remove the Account if you like but i'm not to sure what will happen.

To view every accound on the computer: Go to Start> Run & Type> Control userpasswords2. This is Advanced Account Managment and you shouldn't use it if you don't know what your doing.

I would feel comfortable removing the account, but I can't even log onto windows. That account and mine now have passwords assigned to them (never had a password on the computer before) and I don't know what that password is. I have been on Microsoft tech support and naturally they are no help.

I CAN NOT access my control panel at all. When I turn the computer on, I get the Windows Log on screen. It lists two accounts.

1. ASP.NET Machine account (with password assigned)

2. My Account (with password assigned)

Let me stress, that I have never had a password on my computer so I don't know the password to either account. So how do I bypass this screen to even get to the control panel to delete the asp.net account?

I found a help article on the internet that had me put in the windows xp cd and then at one point hit shift+f10 that was supposed to allow me to acess my control panel...the steps all worked until I tried accessign the control panel and it said "User account not recognized".

I am so frustrated. Thank you all for your help thus far.

vogler333 do you have the default Admin account still?

if you do, do this

at the Welcome Screen press CTRL + ALT + DELETE together. The classic Login will appear type Administrator and Administration And if you havnt changed that password it will login in :).

Plus you should have made a Password Reset Disk ;)

If you Can't do that your pretty much locked out of your comptuer as the other 3 accounts on your computer are Disabled and these are Called Guest and Help assistant and SUPPORT_388945a0. And yes if you are wondering these are accounts your to not play with well the last 2 anyway.

    • Wonder how these will be affected in terms of Bitlocker Auto encryption...
    • Huzzah, good job team. Hacking fingerprint support into it currently is... Suboptimal at best, so I hope this will be a game changer.
