Need For Speed: Carbon

Probably because the game lost appeal so fast :(

After finishing the Career mode quite quickly I can understand why many people might of lost interest. There is plenty more to do though, but with some of the Challenge Series challenges been quite hard and same for some of the Reward Card stuff..I know what was quite fun for a while turns into frustration...

maybe if the game didnt crash so much id post some nice screenies of my beauties :(

The 360 version crashes too :( I think the game was poorly coded...if EA spend more time on making a quality title rather then trying to pump out a new NFS every year it wouldn't be so bad. I like Carbon despite many people thinking it was crap and personally I felt the NFS series was one of the few quality titles to come out of EA (I followed the series since TNFS:SE), but now it's turned into a ritual of pumping out a NFS every year...Carbon could of been a hell of alot better though if EA spent some more time on it, I would of been happy to wait a few years for a new NFS, if it meant it would be a quality game, packed with features and fun! (like the old NFS games were) but that is just me.

The game just doesn't feel that fast compared to MW. I'm guessing maybe it's because the races have TOO MANY DAMN HARD TURNS. It's expected for canyon duels and drifts, but others just don't have enough straight ways to easily cruise on. Did I mention that the highway is sorely underused in this game?

I also can't find a way to increase the turning speed in Carbon, so most times I end up crashing the damn car onto the sides. :pinch:

And finally, they axed the junkman performance parts. Arghhhhhh.

But in any case, here's my car:

with the muscle cars, i found that the steering could be awsome at times and horrible at others, i would drift around corners like it was nothing, and on others it seemed like i was not turning at all. i finally uninstalled the game because it got boring since i was at the boss race and i stopped playing because i just reinstalled some old games that i found interest in.

This game has too much glitter...everything is so shiny and sparkly, horribly inaccurate graphics I'm afraid and hasn't changed at all since need for speed high stakes...They managed to do it right in need for speed porsche unleashed then it went down again. The cars are awesome, however and they are modeled pretty well.

Has anyone unlocked the 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS (AE86)? I wanted to see if it was available in the PC version. I can't seem to find a screenshot but I've heard it's in the game.

I have :p

Ea ruined the nfs series after they came out with underground....the racing is horrible (I hate the damn blurry effect) And there were maybe 4 tracks at the most just raced them backwurds to make it seems like there were more tracks.

Underground 1, 2 and MW are great games, altought, with Carbon, they did like a "fast" job, a lot of the cars i really wanted in carreer mode never were available, and they were just available as "Custom Cars" with no visual tweakings possible...

Im 3 challenges away from beating em all, then im going for the challenge cards :p

All my Career cars, on 100% Now.. anyone know how to make money when the game is finished so i can buy my koinigseggy :D

I quite a few cars but imageshack just crapped out on me so i you'll just have to settle for my EVO and Skyline, fully Tuned with Race packages but body's left except for the alloys, i think the kits for them look like shite.

Well, I started playing NFS a few days ago and I'm around 35ish percent. I started with the RX-8. When the RX-7 was unlocked, I just had to. I just think it sucks that theres not a single Acura or Honda in the game. The Honda NSX-R, s2000, Civic SiR 2002+ or the Acura Integra Type-S (DC5) would of fit nicely.

Always keeping it clean and simple

I read that only the Japanese version comes with the Trueno (without unlock) but that for the pc we might have to download some patch later?

need to like find some way of gettin it in career mode or im gonna go mad!!

Not "my" car. Just installed the game and did a quick race with the Carrera GT. Amazing car, altho my favorite is the Shelby Mustang GT500

However, I don't like how the car's edges look aliased even on max. settings/details and 4xAA applied. Just look at the spoiler of the Carrera. :/

    • Not such a great deal, Ultimate, which gives you full 5080 features is $181.99 CAD per month, that's $2183.88 per year, I can buy the 5080 for $1809.99 CAD, then it goes up to $279.99 per month after the first billing cycle. Typical cloud rental, costs more than buying the hardware.
    • Wow, spoken like a true blind hater, you don't even provide arguments. Please, go check my comment above to @seacaptain and you'll find out why what you say doesn't make sense in this context...
    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
