How do you compress an ISO image file

Why would you burn an ISO image to a DVD...are you trying to burn it as DATA, or are you loading the actual image and burning it. I've known some images to be larger than the max capacity and burn just fine...

I know how to burn an ISO file to a CD (burn as a disc image), but the image itself is 4.37GB, and Nero is erroring... I'm going to try and overburn right now, however.

edit:can overburn destroy my DVD drive? What are the chances?

I think misunderstand the term "Overburn". Overburning is simply the method of writing more than the recommended amount of data to a disk in the hope that the disc can actually hold more data. All DVDs by different manufacturers can vary in terms of how much data it can hold, but they can all definitely hold at least 4.35GB, so they make that the official limit or recommended cap. If overburning fails or results in data corruption, then this means the disc did not have that extra bit of storage space needed for overburn, in which case the disc is made useless. It does NOT, however, destroy your disc drive!

Hope this clears things up.

Have you tried ImgBurn?

ImgBurn carries on from where DVD Decrypter left off! (Well, for the burning part anyway!)

ImgBurn can write most types of CD / DVD images and it supports all the latest writers (including booktype / bitsetting on many of the major ones - i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, NEC, Plextor, Sony). You can even use ImgBurn to erase / format your rewritable media!

ImgBurn will try its very best to burn your DVD-Video double layer images using the layer break you've specified in the IFO files, but it can also calculate the best place for you, to save you the trouble.

Just use a dual layer DVD.

I'm trying to stick with what I have.

And as for imgburn... no need to try, as I tried burning on a different computer, and it worked (don't know whats wrong with my laptop, probably nothing)

Problem Solved.
