Ever messed with the School Computers?

Few times as well:

- in my college, installed BioNet (a backdoor) on several computers which allowed to view screens, take over a computer, open CD ROM, etc

- in another college (which I visited to see my GF) installed DC++ and shared files for several months (to gain access to the drives I had to download a software from a website and Run it from under IE).

At primary school we had BBC Micros, one of the accessories was a remote control plastic turtle, this could be placed on a sheet of paper on the floor, and would draw whatever image you made using a simple art package.

As usual i was more interested in how it worked than actually drawing a picture and found the setting, i changed cm to m and left at that.

The next kid to come along did a picture of a house, when this was sent to the turtle, it set off as usual, contiued off the paper, and drew a large house on the carpet in the library.

I got sent home from school for my tampering, only to be called back into the head masters office an hour later, back in those days we didnt have IT staff, and the teachers hadnt been able to find the setting, I was made to change the setting back and sent back to class.

from that day on, I was always called upon when there was a problem with the computers. :D

When I started secondry school in 1980 we had BBC computers to.

There was a stock exchange game and purple people eaters.

I too changed settings in the programs to know what to do to cheat and beat every challanger.

It was like taking a walk on the wildside in those days and pretty dam lame compared to these days.

all ive done really is (that are against the schools it rules):

-Changed printer settings (uped the res -- according to the it people "i hacked the network")

-Viewed a few sharded folders that we dont normally have access to

-Used LanSchool (had libanians permission, althought still against the rules) and kicked all the people playing games and miss using the network off

-And i have a few passwords for other students a/cs (the people know and gave them to me)

Me, Grade 5: Found Access to all The Blocked / Hidden Games in MAC OS 9 ( Demons Rising/ and Some Alien 3D Game)

Grade 6: Decided To Stay Clean!

Grade 7: Found about 4 ways to Access blocked Sites ( 2 Are blocked , 2 are Still Fully Functional),

Grade 8: Found a Way To Gain Full Access to any Student in My Grade and Read / Write With Full Permissions.

Computer Teacher = Friend , IT Admin ( I think He Hates Me :p)

3rd yr - Learned that bu bootin in DOS we could turn Access Blocks Off and delete large chunks or there drivers

4th yr - Obtained the Master password for the then current PC labs and school Network

5th yr - New Computers, new password. Once again got hold of master password

6th yr - Used master pass to set up new privelages on PC` to run outside apps. Installed apps with no close function onto a pc network with no alt-tab function. Which meant they had to be physically turned off at the wall to be shut down ( ALL OF THEM )
