Yz Dock & Dial-up Networking Help.....

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I have been trying to add the dial-up networking link yto my Yz Dock. I have gone through all the related posts regarding the same but none seem to work for me. I have also tried all different keys from the registry (searching for dial-up) and that too does not help. So could someone plese direct me as to how to add a link to my Yz dock for dial-up networking......steps 1 to z would be appreciated.

I have checked and cross-checked all the links on this board and elsewhere. So please don;t tell me to look again

TIA

Sumit

try to type in the link label :

shell:ConnectionsFolder

I didn't try this tip but I know It works.

If you wish to have an ISP direct shortcut , just do like me : add the "localISP".lnk ( where local ISP is your ISP, obviously ) to the Quicklaunch folder.

Then link to the quicklaunch shortcut ( C:\documents and settings\%Profile\application data\microsoft\....\isp.lnk).

Hope this will work.

just add the icon and in the link to field type:

file://::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{992CFFA0-F557-101A-88EC-00DD010CCC48}

that will do it

just type c:\ or whatever in the work folder

:ninja:

edit: mmm i just tried my own tip and didnt work. probably thats the address for win98's dialup networking and you meant the Network COnnections folder? playsk's address did work tho, in the "link to" field type: shell:ConnectionsFolder.

i think that's what ur looking for

just in case u wanted to know, here's a link to other registry addresses for Y'z:

Special Folders

Thanks Intensityx!

Atleast Now I got somewhere.....(but the greedy *cough* that i am :D )....I have a Dial-up connections called "BSNL" in the Connections Folder.....Now can i directly link to that?? Sorry to be absuing myself..(if it offends anyone)!

But i will be very thankful to you if you can solve this one for me ;)

TIA

Sumit

You could do one of the following:

Add rasphone.exe (c:\windows\system32) and you will be prompted to

choose your connection

...or you can drag rasdial.exe from same folder

and in the arguments field put: ConnectionName Username Password

and set show commands to minimized.

Thanks a ton to intensityx!!!!

It worked and I can live with the command prompt window that opens (minimized ofcourse). I dont damn care about the security of the password as long as it works with a single click.....

Thanks once again to all who searched and tried to help
