Last night i tried to set up my router to port forward xbox live, (after finding out how to do it) but when i went into the router the list of the prots etc i could forward was full up of msngr.exe and stuff like that. if i delete them from my list, will they still work?

as i would really like to setup my router to allow xbox live to completley work (even though my xbox 360 is connected to my pc then to router wirelessly).

Also

would it be easier to setup if i connected my 360 to a wireless rotuer and then that to my other router that is connected to the internet? if so, how do i do that as well,i think i got to setup my router (connected to 360) to be access point of something...

yeh im a weee bit confused lol

You have multiple routers, and your PC is running ICS? To share the internet with your xbox?

Did you setup your wireless router as an accesspoint?

If not -- its a wonder anything works.. I would assume your double natting for starters - if running ICS, that would be a triple nat.

As to forwards you already have? If you are double natting, I highly doubt any of what you have setup is actually doing what you think its doing.

Please post the model numbers of your devices and how you actually have things wired together, and what IP addresses your machines are using - and I would be happy to help you straighten it out.

But yes I would suggest you connect your xbox to your network through your router vs your PC.

Real quick - this is something how you should be setup for a router and a router acting as an accesspoint, with wired and or wireless devices.post-14624-1164112848_thumb.jpg

atm i have a wireless router

with 2 wireless computers and a wireless laptop

one of these comptuers is connected to my 360 via an ethernet cable

if i was to connect my computer and my xbox via wire to my other wireless router i have that isnt connected atm and use that router to connect to my main router.

also if i clear the ports that "are in use" and use it to forward my 360 ports would it make a difference?

I would LOVE to help you.. but so that we are SURE we know what devices we are talking about, and how they are connected.. What part about make and model number did you not get?

Are you using ICS or not?? Or is your xbox just connected to your computer so that 1 computer can connect to it??

If you want to use your 2nd routers switch to add more ports -- yes that can be done no problem.. Basically the same instructions as using it as a accesspoint - minus you wouldn't be using its wireless.. The layout I posted is this type of layout.

How to Use a Wireless Router as a Wireless Access Point

Since I have NO IDEA what ports you have forwarded - or if your actually using them, I can not say one way or the other if it would make a difference.

360 to internet isnt that hard to do, its working now, i just want to go another way about it, as when my cousins or mates are over they bring their 360's and laptops and using this router in my room if i set it up right they can connect to that as well rather than having to bring lots of cables xD

Ok,

connected to my cable modem i have

Wireless G Router F5D7230uk4

this is connected to a laptop via wireless card

and two computers via a wireless usb dongle.

My xbox 360 is connected to this network via an ethernet cable into the back of my pc and the wireless connection is sharing enabled.

i propose to use my

Wireless G Modem Router F5D7632uk4A connected to my router downstairs wirelessly

to connect MY computer AND my 360 to via ethernet. and in this, use the virtual servers on both routers to have the ports for xbox live forwarded.

the problem, is how do i set this router up as an access point rather than another router.

:argh: Dude what part about the LINK I provided

http://www.dslwebserver.com/main/wireless-...cess-point.html

"How to Use a Wireless Router as a Wireless Access Point"

and picture even -- did you NOT understand??

And you can forward ports ALL day long on your router.. if the Xbox is connected to a ICS connection on your PC -- those forwarded ports at your router are useless!

Turn OFF dhcp on your 2nd router, changes its LAN IP to be on your network and to NOT conflict with any existing IP or dhcp scope. Connect it to your first router using one of its LAN ports vs the WAN/MODEM/INTERNET port -- and SHAZAM its a access point ;)

so connect MY router upstairs to the one downstairs via wireless IS possible?

Well that is possible, if your router(s) support it..

This is what you want to do, yes?

You will have to look up if your EXACT model(s) of hardware support it.. but I did find this

F5D7230-4 User Manual - English (Wireless Bridge Addendum)

http://www.belkin.com/support/download/dow...p;download=1103

Which would tend to suggest your hardware can do it..

But sure WDS ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_Distribution_System ) or wireless bridging/repeating is pretty standard stuff.. The hardware your using just has to support it is all.. I know for a fact it can be done using any hardware that will run dd-wrt, etc..

@blade1269 - Thanks ;)

    • According to an analysis of the new images from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, the nucleus of 3I/ATLAS is between 320 m (1,000 feet) and 5.6 km (3.5 miles) across. The new Hubble observations allowed astronomers to more accurately estimate the size of the comet’s solid, icy nucleus. “The upper limit on the diameter of the nucleus is 5.6 km, though it could be as small as 320 m across,” University of California, Los Angeles astronomer David Jewitt and his colleagues said in a statement. “Though the Hubble images put tighter constraints on the size of the nucleus compared to previous ground-based estimates, the solid heart of the comet presently cannot be directly seen, even by Hubble.” “Observations from other NASA missions including Webb, TESS, and the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, as well as W.M. Keck Observatory, will help further refine our knowledge about the comet, including its chemical makeup.” https://www.sci.news/astronomy/hubble-images-interstellar-comet-3i-atlas-14124.html

On Wednesday (Aug. 6), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued a geomagnetic storm watch and suggested that the storm is likely associated with a recent solar flare that erupted from an active region of the sun. The effects of such a storm would be manageable and would be limited to technology infrastructure, NOAA said. But as a bonus for skywatchers, auroras may be visible from New York to Idaho. https://www.livescience.com/planet-earth/weather/auroras-may-be-visible-from-18-states-this-weekend-as-solar-storm-barrels-toward-earth
