I just tried something. Go to account.live.com and change your country to United States. Then go to https://reg.msgamestudios.com/default.aspx?site=Halo3Teaser and click on United States. Sign in if it asks you to and then fill out the form. Then, once your done, change the country on account.live.com back. Hopefully, it worked.

Doing that, I would think Bungie wont pick you. I don't think I should risk it.

i was thinking of that, and i really would try it - but i don't want to mess up my chances of getting into the beta (it'd be annoying if people who did do that got in and i didn't! :pinch:) - also there's that thing where MS are banning accounts where the regions don't match up? or something so i don't really want to risk it :p

I used this link https://reg.msgamestudios.com/default.aspx?site=Halo3Teaser and regristered... does that mean im signed up for a chance to get into the beta? Usualy they ask more info than that when it comes to betas ecpically on games like halo 0o.

I just signed up using that link. Hopefully I'll get in. If we are selected, how will we get the demo? I'm pretty sure we have to get it from Xbox Live somehow.. I doubt they'd mail in a MP beta DVD.

signed up, i hope thats an official link.. i only signed up cause it used my passport to login

I am holding off personally, since there is no such live site as www.msgamestudios.com, at least one that is live on the tubes.

I also went to whois.net, and see whoever owns it registered it through Tucows... I wonder if MS would use Tucows or not???

Honestly I am sure everyone is fine, I am just not taking any chances...

They used it for the Free XBL Arcade game thing a few weeks ago. Where you registered your console and you received 2 free games. So it is on the up and up.

"North America Halo Gamers!

Register now for future Halo 3 updates and for an opportunity to participate in the Halo 3 multiplayer public beta program, scheduled to kick off in spring 2007. Participating in this beta is an unprecedented opportunity for gamers to be among the first to experience the most anticipated game of 2007.

The Xbox Live multiplayer public beta, which is a pre-release version of the multiplayer experience of Halo 3, is scheduled for availability in spring 2007 exclusively on Xbox 360. This beta also represents an opportunity for gamers to give information that will help in the development of Halo 3. Through the resulting feedback, Bungie Studios will be able to further refine and hone the end result of the game.

Please note that in order to register* for the beta, you must be 17 years or older and a resident of the 50 United States (includes District of Columbia) or Canada. If selected to participate, you must have access to the following:

- An Xbox 360 Pro console (includes hard-drive)

- A valid Xbox Live Gold subscription

- A valid Microsoft. NET Passport account with a Xbox Live gamertag linked

* Limit one registration per person/Xbox Live gamertag. If selected, your invitation is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The beta is available in English only."

North America and Canada only :( .

Something tells me this is only for updates not beta signup. As this site test.halo3.com used to work and now it doesn't. Should do later.

I think test.halo3.com was a test of halo3.com, not an actual site that was supposed to ever be public...

Well there is a screenshot on a previous page with all that before the site when 403 and has gone live again. Looks like myself and other sites were right. It's North America / Canada only "at first". Typical.

stifler6478 - I think that it maybe "testing" for the final website?

Im sure The UK, Europe and other countries will get their chance. Bungie has already stated that. I dont think they would be dumb enough to re-iterate somthing like that and then not let you guys register. It obviously wont be right away as its not on the site yet, but I would imagine you will be selected in the same process as North American gamers. Yes I can agree that it not being there now with the rest of them is a bit annoying as well as not really fair. But the chances of one of you getting seleted will be most likely the same as the next gamer.

Yes, that's what I was saying. Also, it may still be a global registration, but they're rolling out the registration, so they don't get completely slammed by every single country at once. I know that's a long shot optimistic hope for all you that don't live in the US/Canada, but it could be. I don't envision Bungie saying it would be global and then it not be global at all.

You are right, but would be nice of them to say so, I was staying up tonight specially to sign up for it (ya, you may think that is silly).

    • They already threw the Ultra 1st gen under the bus?
    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
