Sign Up Monday for Chance to Join Halo 3 MP Beta

Recommended Posts

Looks like everyone is getting a "White Page of Death" when they try to register. Oh well, maybe next time.

I got that when I tried to signup under N.America and my live account is UK. That may not apply to you.

I registered with that first link that was posted. Hope everything is Kosher. :) :p

Replying to myself, I'm pretty sure that link was valid. Bungie's response:

There's been a lot of rampant speculation going on today regarding the Halo 3 Beta and the sign-up page for it. Going through the now live Halo3.com is the only way in which you are guaranteed to have actually registered. Do not trust direct links to the sign-up form, only access it through Halo3.com.

If you've already registered via the direct link that some of our more rabid fans found earlier today, you may well have a perfectly valid registration, but from here on out you should only access the sign-up form through Halo3.com.

This is phase one. There will be more ways to enter the beta program, so don't panic. We will try to ensure that everyone who wants to participate has the opportunity to do so. The beta will be a world-wide affair, and every region that is elligible to participate, will. Much of the information on Halo3.com applies to the US only - so if you live in a different region, keep an eye on your local Xbo x site for details.

Bungie

Ok...I went through halo3.com ...signed in, and was taken to this page:

https://reg.msgamestudios.com/Default.aspx?statusid=1

what the hell does that mean?

Yep same here. I'm assuming thats the page where it says "successful!" since its what showed after signing up with the direct link before the official link was up and the servers wern't dead.

This is supported by the idea that the end of the address is "statusid=1" usually 1 means "yes" soo I'm assuming status would be successful registration or not.

Then again I'm just gonna try again when the servers arn't as dead.

Hey sniper, I found a way around our problem,

sign in, and then enter this url into the location

https://reg.msgamestudios.com/default.aspx?...mp;locale=en-US

and it will take you to the survey you need to fill out, then submit it ...viola!

Hmm for me the site just goes to an error page "Unable to connect". Either the server is messed or somethings wrong with the link..

But going from halo3.com, as soon as I click "continue to sign up" and it tries to contact reg.msgamestudios.com, it errors out almost immediately.

I'll just come back to it tomorrow or something.. It might really be going through but I just don't know it, and then they'll ban me for spamming them :p I found out I spelt my city name wrong though sooo I really should try to submit again some time when the servers arn't being hammered.

still nothing for people in Europe? :(

European Gamers

Europe will soon have the chance to secure their place on the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, scheduled to start next spring. Keep an eye on your local Xbox community site for more details.

* Limit one registration per person/Xbox Live gamertag. If selected, your invitation is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The beta is available in English only.

There we go :) I was right last night then, it said the same thing on Xbox UK.

ah, i meant so there's not going to be anything for us now, like people in America who go to at least show that they wanted to participate - hopefully they'll release more information for us people in the EU shortly :)

Spring 2007 it says :).

The Beta is scheduled to start in the spring. The sign-up for European gamers and the such will come soon. As already stated on the website. Like some have speculated it was probably done this way to keep the servers from taken suge a huge hit that they actually fail and no-one is able to sign up. You've already seen most of us here in North America already mention that the servers are being pretty sluggish.

    • They already threw the Ultra 1st gen under the bus?
    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
