Anonymizer.com's Test

Recommended Posts

I just took a test at Anonymizer which shows me what Javascript, Cookies and HTML can find out from my computer, hence, what a Hacker can see once I am using the Internet.

I found out that Hackers can do so much damage from me just using a browser and surfing normally, which i am sure most people here does daily.

the test showed me that it can go into, and has just went into:

- all my drives

- it can determine my IP easilly

- it can determine my time zone, my geographical location (as specific as city) and country

- it can determine my MSN contacts o_O, and contact them using my account

- it can determine what i have copied on my clipboard right now

- it can determine and view my neighbourhood network

- it can see my important files in Windows directory, ie. Regedit, system.ini, Recycling Bin, FTP, Control Panel

- it can see my cookies from major sites

- it showed me a copy of win.ini file

so yeah, it is kind of freaky and unexpected. try it yourself.

fake... if u check the sources to most of those, it just has local javascript that only u can see.. its like saying, "look i can see my desktop, that means everyone else can see it too".. ip, geo and stuff normal for web browsers to broadcast. your network test thing is just an ip trace...

no biggie..

This is pretty funny stuff, the only good that came out of this site is hoping that the proxy they have in the top left corner will allow me to get around my SmartFilter at School.

    • I was a little disappointed with mine compared to the Lemokey P1, for example. Seemed cheap compared to all aluminum. But I liked the look to go with my Fractal North. Ended up getting a Keychron Q1 HE and a Lemokey L5 HE. Love the L5, which replaced my P1. The definitely aren't light boards.
