NeoXY
So, no announcement, no keynote, just Leopard, but I can live with that :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/521244-mac-os-x-leopard-related-discussion/page/58/#findComment-588948372 Share on other sites
Xero
Who said they were working on a black theme for 10.5? I'd love a dark OS X theme. I am, here. Also for anyone who cares, A2DP, is finally supported! suspiria
- Leopard is excellent so far in the two and a half hours of use. - Very quick on my Core 2 Duo iMac. - Love the new iCal - New iChat is excellent, too. - The new GUI as a whole is fantastic. A nice visual refresh. Apart from the few minor UI bugs, it's very nice. - The Dock, however, is not winning me over at all. But, it's not as bad as I thought, to be honest. rajputwarrior
I am, here. Also for anyone who cares, A2DP, is finally supported! that looks hot. When are you going to release that? And will you need third party software? I just did a clean install of Leopard. I had a archive and install but this is much faster after clean, gawd i love leopard. osirisX
I found this over at InsanelyMac. Here's a way to make a really useful dynamic stack: Open up the com.apple.dock.plist file from your ~/library/preferences/ folder in the plist editor (it uses the binary format so you'll need the editor from the developer tools or you'll need to convert it to text and back with plutil). The stack you created is in persistant-others, it should be easy enough to find. Change the tile-type tag to "recents-tile" and save. Open up a terminal window, and kill the dock process. It'll restart and you'll see that the stack icon has changed into a Recent Applications stack. If you right-click on it you can choose from a few different types. I'd worship you if you gave some of us in hell a glass of water, if you catch my drift. mattrobs
I found this over at InsanelyMac. Here's a way to make a really useful dynamic stack: Excellent. Now that's what Stacks was made for. Can you drag a Smart Folder to become a stack? osirisX
I'm quite disappointed with the way Mail handles RSS. Is there a way to get it to show a Dock badge when unread feeds are present without having the feeds clutter up your Mailboxes section? Quillz
Totally agree I agree. I did that on as many demo iMacs as I could get my hands on at the Apple Store. One of the employees asked me how I did it, he was amazed when he saw the new Terminal in Leopard. The Pro theme is awesome. ZZOOzzoo
I'm not sure if it's been asked, but do you guys think a two-year-old PowerBook G4 w/ 1.67Ghz and 1GB RAM can handle Leopard well? My friends 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4 handles it well. He's got 1.25gb of ram though. Quillz
I'm posting this from the Apple Store at Sherway Gardens . . . place is buzzing. Lots of excitement. The atmosphere's so good, I might just be inspired enough to pick up a new Nano, lol. In any case, I picked up a copy of Leopard, which is why I came. How are the upgrades vs. clean installs, by the way? Just did an upgrade on both my iMac and MacBook, more or less worked fine. But I did have some issues with Mail and iCal. MasterC
I just did an upgrade on my MBP, and after Spotlight was finished indexing, I started playing around. This thing is so fast! I love the new Spotlight and how fast it is, and how the app is already selected when you search for it. Leopard is money well spent, in my opinion.
