ProtoPunch
First off, a few days ago I purchased an Xbox 360 Premium and NBA 2k7. Today I played my first online match, and everything was going well until I was fouled and was ready to shoot free throws. For some reason every single time it was my turn to shoot free throws my controller would disconnect! I'd try to reconnect but it would literally disconnect over and over until I ran out of free throw time and would brick the shot automatically. The weird thing is after the free throw and someone from either team rebounded the ball the controller would finally stay reconnected. I also managed to pause the game when I saw I was going to the free throw line and it disconnected me again as soon as I unpaused at the free throw line. I not only had to contend with someone lobbing passes the full length of the court, but remaining competitive became impossible since my controller experienced this problem. Has anyone ever heard of this problem? I tried searching the forum for 'controller disconnect' but nothing came up. If it matters: I was running music off of a thumb drive while playing and my Xbox 360 is connected via Ethernet to a wireless router. Still, it doesn't make sense that whenever it came to me shooting free throws my controller would disconnect on me nonstop. Is this possibly an exploit? Up until now I've been playing demos and Geometry Wars and I never had my controller lose connection. DarkGashX
I had a look on xbox.com for you and Google but no luck. Maybe it is a game/controller defect? ProtoPunch
Thanks for your help. I thought that might be a possibility. I used the controller that shipped with the system, and I just purchased a second controller today so I might try playing someone online with the newer controller to see if it happens again. The bad thing is I don't want to play someone and quit the game and get negative feedback because of 'unsportsman-like conduct for quitting' so until I find someone that won't mind I guess I won't be playing the game online for a bit. DarkGashX
I'm sure if you ask someone here on neowin with the game they wont mind :) And ya, if the "fault" doesn't occur with the new controller you have your answer. Add me to your friends list and I'll help you out. I've played 2K7 a bit online and haven't had the problem you described, it's been stable for me. That does seem strange. ProtoPunch
Yeah, I think it was just a one time glitch, pretty frustrating nonetheless. At least I don't have to deal with Microsoft RMA and all that jazz. Thanks for the help fellas, see you on Live :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/521425-nba-2k7-controller-disconnect/#findComment-588170416 Share on other sites
