I'll probably rent it (maybe during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend) since I have no job at the moment. I'll maybe rent Madden 2003 for PS2 b/c I just bought the new PS2 Network Adapter. And I'll be getting Metroid Prime (along with some other old SNES and NES) from a friend of mine in NYC.

yeah we'll see who ends up at top for november...Prime, Cell or GTA. personally i think it's going to be GTA, Prime and then Cell. why Prime ahead of Cell?? well cause right now Xbox users how so many games to choose from with Unreal, mech assault and all the live games so that divides up the sales. but with the gaycube, there's nothing else out, so it's the only thing that people can get.

gaycube

That's uncalled for dude. The Gamecube has other great games in addition to Metroid Prime:

Super Mario Sunshine

Super Monkey Ball 1

Super Monkey Ball 2

Star Fox Adventures

Pikmin

Resident Evil

Resident Evil 0

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader

Animal Crossing

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee

Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Wave Race: Blue Storm

i'm fully aware of that, but looking at the data that was just presented...it is pretty obvious that gamecube users aren't picking that software up (except for Smash Brothers). Mario does look like it's selling ok, but i'm pretty sure it's underselling. and there was actually a mention by one of the ign editors (Fran i think) who said that ED has basically bomb. it has sold basically only 150,000+ copies. i do believe that Smash Brothers is the Cube's only million seller....so it's not like the Launch games did to great. but don't quote me on that last stat.

but we're talking about NEW releases coming out now. and basically Prime is the only game worth getting for the Cube right now.

ED Sales

Hi, I was wondering how Eternal Darkness has been selling? I read some inferences that it sold poorly. If true, it's a shame; ED is a masterpiece.

Matt responds: Sadly, Eternal Darkness hasn't sold as well as it should have. The game debuted to roughly 150,000 in sales in the US and hasn't moved too many more units since. This isn't exactly what I'd call a bomb by any means, but the game definitely deserves better. While it performed even worse in Japan, early indications are that it's actually doing very well in Europe, which is good news.

well as expected ign just posted some initial sales data of prime and it has already sold 250,000 units as expected. i've previously given my reasons why it would sell so well. don't get my wrong i do think it's a good game, but when you have many many games to choose from, as opposed to just one in my opinion then of course that game will dominate.

if you check out the article on ign, i personally don't think it's fair for Nintendo do compare a service to a game, let's do game to game comparison now. they say they are now #2 for hardware sales for this month, well i'll believe it when i see it. but in my opinion, if all the live software combined outsales Prime, then that says alot. because if just Splinter Cell or Unreal came out then there's less competition for the software among potential Xbox buyers so it would have the same chance as Prime to reach as many buyers as possible.

that said, Nintendo better hope that Splinter Cell doesn't outsell Prime, oh my god that would be such an embarassment.

are there even 1.4 million people who own a game cube for a singe game to sell that many? haha

It's guys like you and comments like that that turn these discussions into flame wars. I wouldn't post in these threads unless you can contribute an intelligent post.

actually it was a serious question...and how is your post a good contribution? it didn't even answer my question. you just assume i was saying the game cube is crap. so actually it's people like you who ruin these discussions.

If it was a serious question, then maybe you should have made it sound serious from the get-go. Plus the way you phrased your question doesn't even make sense to me.

You've obviously have never read my other posts in the Gamer's Hangout forum, so don't even go there.

I agree to StevoFC, are there really that many game cubes even sold? As a former employee of Best Buy, Game Cube sold the least amount of systems. It was actually PS2 that ranked #1, and we sold more Game Boy Advanceds than Game Cube. Too be more specific StevoFC last month the combined total of all Xboxs and Game Cubes still came up short of PS2, so really I do agree with you.

XBoX (Total) + Game Cube (Total) < PS2 (Total) :woot:

Um duh. You don't need to work at a retail store to figure out that PS2 sells more systems then the Gamecube, GBA and Xbox. All you have to do is look up the latest sales numbers for the systems and you can figure that out. Things are beginning to change for the Gamecube tho, with Metroid Prime (contender for Game of the Year against "Splinter Cell") and Resident Evil 0.

 Yeah I'm well aware of the fact that you don't need to work in a retail store to beable to say if game cube sucks or not. I really dont know why in all honesty anyone would purchase one? I mean this month alone we sold 150 PS2s vs like 20 or 30 Game Cubes. Face it at least with PS2 you getting a great gaming system with a DVD player, plus the added accesories such as the online gaming, surf boards, keyboards, soon to be addition hard drives, etc. I'm not seeing Nintendo making any efforts to try and catch up to what Sony is what seems to be setting the standard for todays gaming. Plus more and more games are continuing to come out for Playstation too, not only Game Cube. So just because metroid is coming out doesnt really mean anything. If anyone has played Vice City, then you should know how amazing it is. So when I see Nintendo come out with a game with the caliber of Vice City, then I'll start to have more respect for the company, until then have fun with Mario.

Ha wow, just realizing something.....this thread started out with video game sales, and now its kinda like a debate on what gaming system is better. Wow, StevoFC started this movement.......ha

Just b/c Gamecube isn't selling as many systems as the PS2 doesn't mean that it sucks. The Nintendo Gamecube is an excellent system and is capable as much as the PS2 is. Nintendo unfortuantely is having a hard time shaking off the image that is just for kids. But those people who are SMART enough too see past the design of the console and see how fun most of the games are in for a treat. I highly doubt that the Grand Theft Auto series will have the staying power like Metroid, Zelda, Mario, etc. Now I'm not saying that the Vice City isn't an excellent game, but I doubt it can last as long as some other games.

I don't hate on other system like some people think. I have not found a reason to purchase the Xbox yet b/c I have not found any games that appeal to ME. If a game is fun, I will still play it, regardless of the system. It's a shame that some people don't see it that way and become **cough** FANBOYS **cough**

rgr quoting.

pc > xbox > ps2 > gba > gc.

huh?

 Okay, refering to your huh??? What he was saying was The PC is a better system than an Xbox which is better than ps2 which is better than game cube.

Well I would have to say that yeah no kidding that a PC is a better system for games, there are millions of reasons, but I'll be nice and name just a few.

Number 1: Processor, lets look at todays current processors, they are all about in the 2.0 Ghz range where what XBox is only 700 or 750mhz??

Number 2: You can jam pack a PC full of RAM up to say 2 Gig of RAM, now what gaming system can touch that?

Number 3: Lets not forget video card, how can you compare a 128 MB card to any video game systems graphics.

So basically what I am saying is that you cannot even put a PC against any other system, really it isnt fair because it is no match.

- = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - =

Jago.... to say that you have to be smart to look past the design of the console and for the "treat" of the games, well I have one thing to say.......We have.

The actual console for PS2 is much better than Game Cube, plus the fact there are more games, plus you can run your PS1 games on a PS2. Now if you have a Game Cube that can play N64 Games, then I'll give you props but until then, I as well as the millions......... :woot: AND MILLIONS :woot: .....of PS2 gamers will agree that sony very well has the better platform. I mean how many times can Mario face Bowser or save a princess?? After a while the basics behind Nintendos games have lost touch, and I will say that Nintendo started out as a gaming system for kids, and today it still is a gaming system for kids. Nintendo has been out of the gaming race for a long time, and it will take them a while before they can have a system that can match up to the par of Sony or even Microsoft (Blah).

Hmm...heres a thought? What if apple took a G4 Processor and made their own gaming system? It def. would be a match up for Xbox, considering that the G4 will blow by the Xboxs processor. Anyway....I can't believe how far off base this thread got from the start......Ha, well that goes to show how one person can change the way a thread goes..........

Ha, thanks StevoFC.

It's a shame that some people don't see it that way and become **cough** FANBOYS **cough**

rgr quoting.

pc > xbox > ps2 > gba > gc.

systems? bah!

haha nice to see the morons out in force for this one. add the non-north american sales figures in and see how high the xbox games are then.

pc > xbox > ps2 > gba > gc. lol

i think you got it mixed up

pc > gc > ps2 > gba > psx > n64 > gb > snes > nes > gb 3d > atari > lynx > neogeo > calculator > microwave > a fork > xbox.

have a nice day fanboys. keep wishing that you're xbox will be great. i'll keep using mine to collect dust. and the controllers as bookends.

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.3 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display.
