SMP Seesaw is a utility for dual-CPU or dual-core computers that controls how Windows balances the compute load between the two processors. By default, Windows balances the processing load to both CPUs as evenly as possible among all programs. SMP Seesaw provides a convenient means to change the processor affinities for all running programs at once. In particular, the most common use is to dedicate one of your processors to a single program, thereby improving the performance or responsiveness of that program.

Full-screen games, software-based DVD playback, PVR programs like SageTV and BeyondTV, and VMware are examples of applications that might benefit from having exclusive access to one of your CPUs. Of course, not all programs would benefit: multi-threaded programs that are designed to take full advantage of several processors would actually be impeded. However, relatively few desktop applications are designed like this.

Virtual WiFi helps a user connect to multiple IEEE 802.11 networks with one WiFi card. VIt works by exposing multiple virtual adapters, one for each wireless network to which connectivity is desired. Virtual WiFi uses a network hopping scheme to switch the wireless card across the desired wireless networks. Switching between networks is transparent to the applications, such that the user feels she is connected to multiple wireless networks simultaneously. Virtual WiFi is implemented as an NDIS intermediate driver, and a user-level service in Windows XP. Virtual WiFi interacts with the card device driver at the lower end, and network protocols at the upper end. The buffering protocol is implemented in the kernel and the switching logic is implemented as a user-level service.

The Guide is an application that allows you create documents ("guides") which inherently have a tree (which you can modify as you please) and text associated with each node of the tree. The text itself is of the rich-text variety, and the editor allows you to modify the style and formatting of the text (fonts, bold, italics etc).

For the initiated, the Guide is a two-pane extrinsic outliner. This concept is similar to mindmapping in some ways.

Copy your files faster and easier

TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features:

* Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives.

* Pause and resume file transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click.

* Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.

* Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files.

* Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual.

Was back here looking for more Alternative Freeware and I ran into the Instant Messengers. Been using Pidgin (formerly GAIM) for a while now and it's a great product. I looked in your section and saw that it's still labeled as GAIM so maybe a name change? I know th website redirects to Pidgin but yeah.
