This utility, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them. These programs include ones in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell extensions, toolbars, browser helper objects, Winlogon notifications, auto-start services, and much more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

Autoruns' Hide Signed Microsoft Entries option helps you to zoom in on third-party auto-starting images that have been added to your system and it has support for looking at the auto-starting images configured for other accounts configured on a system. Also included in the download package is a command-line equivalent that can output in CSV format, Autorunsc.

You'll probably be surprised at how many executables are launched automatically!

Autoruns works on all versions of Windows including 64-bit versions.

Developement seems purged on Infra Recorder which is sad because it deemed to be an excellent alternative to Nero.

Latest release is dated from June 2007 :) And it's the best front-end GUI for cdrtools.

The Alarm Clock of Justice wakes your computer from standby and hibernation to play an alarm consisting of movies, music, CDs, and/or running programs, scripts, batchfiles, and ANY type of file your computer knows how to run. Alarms can also include web addresses and a built-in reminder system can speak reminders with a customizable display (including flashing random colors). Volume effects include unmuting the volume, setting the volume to a certain level, random volume, and alternating the volume between two customizable levels for four customizable amounts of time. Built in support for Windows Media Player is included, and used as a backup in case your regular media player reports an error. Waking from standby and hibernation is customizable with the amount of time to wake up from before your alarm plays, whether to enable "insomniac mode", and whether to play your alarm if your computer wakes up within a customizable amount of time (default: 60 seconds) of the alarm. It runs in the system tray and can optionally run at startup with a specific configuration. The time format is customizable (24 hour or 12 hour). Extensive tests are included to make sure your computer can wake from hibernation and standby. Configurations allow for unlimited alarms.

Latest Update (5.3 Feature Release)

The 'big' change of this release is per-task comments types.

I appreciate that this doesn't sound very exciting but it allows you to change the comments type for individual tasks instead of having to make the choice for the entire tasklist. And the benefit of this is that if you find that the richedit comments causes the tasklist size to balloon you can now use them selectively, say, just for when you want to embed an image or a file.

This also opens up the possibility of other comments types such as HTML and more specialized code-syntax highlighters.

Note: This is a file format change and you may lose RTF formatting if you save any tasklists and then return to 5.2. Please back up your tasklists.

What's New:

o Added per-task comment types

o Added preference to control balloon notifications

o Added Preference to auto-save when alt-tabbing (i.e. app loses focus)

PS Hot Launch is meant to quickly run different applications, open documents, go to the right folders and web pages, send mail to a specified address, etc.
