Recommended Posts

When it comes to this, i dont have any idea what im doing and what it involves. Basically the car i have has a horrible stereo system, nothing to it, its a damn tape player.

Im looking at getting:

1x Sub

2x Speakers - To replace the ones already built into the door at the front, then maybe 2 in the back at a later date

Amplifier - Is that needed? I dont know

CD Player

Website im looking at to get everything from is: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...65_topcategory_

Hopefully they can fit it all

Budget: No more than ?350

This is what i was thinking:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...ategoryrn_33990

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...ategoryrn_33921

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...ategoryrn_31445

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...ategoryrn_38225

If I were you on that kinda budget, I'd get a good set of 6.5" component speakers up front powered by an ample 2ch Amp. Throw in a nice head unit and I'd be set...for now.

You could add a sub(or two) later if you feel the need. But, I'd take care of the main source first, before spending money exaggerating the low end.

I'm not sure of their internationl sales but ED makes some very good equipment at a fair price, mind you they are a US company.

lol :p n00b :)

A sub isnt anything special, its just a large bass speaker - so basically, if it has (in noobish terms) a red and black cable for each speaker, then it will work (unless halfords try to oversell you with a special amp) :p

are you seriously suggesting he can run that 400w RMS pioneer sub (nice sub btw I have 1) direct from his head unit without an amp, just on a speaker cable ?

The head unit will put out 20-25watts RM per channel adn 50-60w MAX per channel, the sub will barley move and it will sound horrible.

It def needs an amp ive got a an Alpine V12 powering mine, works realy well, ive also got my front components and rear 6*9`s amplified (3 2 channel Alpine V12 amps in total, 1 of them bridged for the sub), but thats not always needed, it depends on the RMS of the speakers you want to use.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2. • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary to compete against AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update bug that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
