Is Ths Spyware?

I've been getting random pop-ups when I'm surfing the internet. I had this problem years ago, but back then, it was also happening when I wasn't even on IE. The pop-ups keep relating to the same thing; "click here for model sites". Has anyone ever had this before? And if they have, is it spyware or a virus? I did a scan with AVG last night, and it didn't find any viruses, but I'm not too sure.

You should use both if you're not using anything else.

i use minimum of two anti spyware programs. currently: webroot spysweeper and ad-aware SE from lavasoft

Use Windows Defender, along with something else if you feel you need to. I only run defender and haven't seen spyware for over a year.

It appears you have NSIS Media (from c:\program files\common files\nsis or something like that). I found that Defender couldn't pick it up.

It is spyware. Windows Defender is rubbish IMHO. I stick by Spybot Search and destroy.

Try it and see if that resolves your issue.

Thanks for that. It's helped a bundle. I've downloaded the Sophos antivirus, and I'm gonna run the Windows OneCare scanner as well if necessary.

Sophos worked! It's got rid of it! It's no longer showing up in the Add/Remove Programs section.

I got Zone Labs Security Suite. Firewall, A/V, and Spyware, its great.
