That makes sense. But there are only 5 directories, which were found with the keys from the decoders, plus 1 directory found with the help of Loki's video.

I don't think there are any keys left which were sent to the decoders, because we approximately got two or three people with identical keys. So there is only a small chance left that we missed a key.

Yeah I know. I am a decoder. Though it states to find the other decoders... hence my post.

But I guess the wiki page is enough. I am just wondering what to do next. This thing got my attention when I got it in the mail yesterday. I have a feeling this has to do with a survey I filled out on Connect in december....

Those who recieved the "letter" are "Decoders"

The very 1st line of the letter is:

"You are now a decoder"

Good morning, (or afternoon or evening, choose whatever's appropriate for your time zone)

I "became" a decoder earlier this week with cipher key 1, but I did want to ask a question here. In reading through the thread (and forgive me if I missed something), I haven't seen anyone discussing stegonography.

The video included on the USB key -- when she says "timeless", the picture gets distored and pixelated. That might be by design, but has anyone attempted to use stego tools against it to see if something else is embedded? Seems like there's another point at which the picture gets distorted too, but I don't have the video in front of me right now.

Now, my reason for not being sure if it'd work - Windows Media is a lossy-compression format. Anything that might be hidden of course might not be fully recognizable after compression. (Arguably, of course, has any of this stuff been 'fully recognizable'?)

I did a real basic search through the video file itself for any strings that might be of significance, but couldn't find anything - then again, I didn't do any thorough searching.

Seems like we've gotten the known ciphers decrypted and cracked, and the puzzles solved. Perhaps the next steps come at 6:30pm on Monday. (Ya know, if I had no job and no other committments, I'd seriously consider heading down to Vegas -- but, sine I do have a job, I'll wait and see where the mystery location here in Seattle is...)

Zero Hour. IIRC, that was the same title given to the Xbox 360 launch party, right?

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

has anyone thought of processing each key table as each clue is available?

i.e.

the original key's translation table + new tranlsation = new tranlsation table.

new translation table + next new translation = next new translation table ... and so forth.

i'm banking on the idea that this key may actually hold several keys (if put through the correct set of methods)

Same here. I received a decoder letter from Loki Wednesday, it is stamped 12-29-2006. And I did fill out that survey on Connect.

Strange just that I still haven't found any other German decoder/blogger. But we'll see what happens Jan. 20th in Berlin.

Guys, after discussing things in the IRC we thought that it'd be a good idea for atleast one, (or all) of the people who are going to the different meets to bring a video camera and record everything there, so we all know what people look like, the surrounding environment and so on.

I'm planning to do it in Sydney.

Yo Atomic -

did you find out Where in Sydney ?

Ya know what I think would be funny...

If Ms. Loki is there in that nifty costume. And after saying her bit at the fountains or whatever - just pulled a disappearing act magician style right in front of yall.....

Yep...that would amuse me...

Can some one check a Vista RTM reg with regedit and search for LOKI, I have an entry (empty) under software/microsoft/windows (I think) - blank contents.

I am on Ultimate RTM (MSDN) so if you have another install and no LOKI maybe this will tie things to Ultimate, and poss Extras - the key being dormant till launch ??

whats the web site for conect?

I "think" they are either refuring to the :

" Shadowrun Shadowrun Beta Selection Process 11/28/2006 "

or

"Blogger - Infuencer - Uber-Geek Beta Opportunity Survey - 11/7/2006 2:45:05 PM (view) "

Either one of them might be where we got the keys from.

I'm not participating in any of those groups and yet I still received the trademark black envelope from MS-Loki a week ago... Could be something I filled out on the Longhorn/Vista Beta though...

was a special survey only given to Vista testers.

I've read almost all 114 pages and this is amazing. I followed along and even tried to figure out some of the problems. I had a few questions and observations though.

Questions and Observations:

1.How do you use the ciphers and ROTs?

2.So far i haven't seen anything saying that this game might continue on after the 8th, everything has lead up to that day. If i'm wrong please tell me.

3. A previous post made by someone stated that he was 99% sure that the prize would be a trip to space and i completely agree with him and his reasons, but also wanted to remind you that in the manifesto page it says " Remember, countdowns usually end with a launch, and this will be a lift-off like the world has never seen." Which is obviously talking about a space shuttel launch.

4.Correct if i'm wrong, but in absolutely none of the movies or directories does it mention that the girl shown is loki and in fact it doesn't even mention it's a girl. When i first started reading i assumed loki was a guy because that is usually how the norse god is depicted.(Note:Although he can be a girl, he is still the "Son" of Odin).

5.Also I think we still have to solve the riddle in the file directory.

6.On the one picross puzzle that gave the answer about the monk, did we ever figure out what that was for?

7.And last, i may be looking to deep, but in file for some reason where it says "Their name will be repeated as many times as there are stars in?

No. Let?s be more precise. That name will be repeated as many times as there are grains of sand on a beach." It really stood out to me as if that meant something.

Please let me know your opinion on my observations.

there is no more puzzles to solove and the quote the quoted is from Bible, and try this web it got all the ansers http://vanishingpointwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page

i have been following along although i have not posted, i have been to the wiki page, and honestly, i dont theink that the name loki is that important, the clue is that the person who gets this prize will be made famous across the world, and therfore their name will be repeated equal to the number of graines of sand. that is also estimated to be the same nuber of atoms in a single 8 oz glass of water....the original poster was lokivanishes (look i vanishes) i tihnk that when people keep recieving the cipher keysand it says a message from Loki....i tihnk that it only says Loki because if u vanish u are no longer there, so the vanishes is no longer there, and has anyone else noticed on the original video the camera swings to different items, and tings in the room, possible hints, maybe, whoever goes to these locations, look for white gloves, a cane, pocket watches.

you all might think im stupid or crazy for thinking these things, but even einstein was thought to be retarted as a child, remember that

    • Let's goooooooo! I've been loving the entries so far! I still have to finish Rebirth (things have been busy!)! Excited for this next installment.
    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Resident Evil, Mafia, Like a Dragon, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic concluded its mystery giveaways this week with another double freebie promotion. As a part of this, you can now grab Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest to keep. Songs of Conquest is a turn-based 4X strategy game where you'll be managing a kingdom, making tough decisions, and taking down enemy forces in tactical combat. Meanwhile, Rogue Waters is a roguelike where, as a pirate captain, you command a ship and crew through procedurally generated encounters. The double giveaway is coming to an end on June 11. On the same day, Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks will join in as the next freebie. Another Humble Choice offer was revealed earlier this week, bringing a refreshed eight-game selection to jump into. The June selection is Octopath Traveler 2, The Riftbreaker, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, INDIKA, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Construction Simulator, Hell Clock, and Overlooting to keep as Steam keys. The $15 bundle gives you all eight games from this month's Choice selection. The month-long promotion will come to an end on July 6, giving you ample time to decide on whether you want the titles. The Humble Store also brought in standard gaming collections this week. The IGN Live Bundle kicked things off with games like Control, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Blair Witch, Rollerdrome, and The Last Campfire for $10. At the same time, the We Will Always be Here bundle carried in titles like Bad End Theater, Thirsty Suitors, Vampire Therapist, and Tavern Talk for $12.
