Lag when playing DVDs

Whenever I play DVDs on my computer with any program (WMP 11, VLC Player, Power DVD 6 Pro, etc.), the video and audio skips/lags. I tried to switch the DVD-ROM drive with a different one, but I still got the same issue. I also tried reinstalling my codecs and video card drivers. This recently just started happening. What could be the cause?

if your PC has a power saving mode (like AMDs Cool and Quiet) this could cause the DVD to lag like hell! try turning this feature off. otherwise. i really dont know. sorry

Don't suppose you could list whats actually in your pc? :)

It could be simply a case of not enough horsepower

check your task manager. you probably installed something thats a memory/cpu hog.

nope, i dont have anything that hogs my cpu/memory
