And today Vista has launched! Let's introduce our competition for Neowin's official choice of Vista's Boot Screen *gag*. You can view each boot screen by clicking the links, then vote for it by selecting the number in front of the link and putting it as your choice in the poll. I believe this is everyone, forgive me if I left anyone out. I scoured the old thread several times over to make sure, but this looks like it. Good luck!

Tomorrow I will post the winner... as for release, I will package it in stardock's standard - (subject to change for vista format) For now this is what I found on the stardock site:

Stardock BootSkin allows users of Windows XP to change their boot screens. So what about Windows Vista users? On Windows Vista, the default is not boot screen at all! With BootSkin Vista, you'll be able to have your own high-resolution, high color boot screen of your choice. (wow high color, this is new to me) ;)

Like BootSkin for Windows XP, when completed it'll be released as freeware. But the initial beta will be on Object Desktop only.

Availability: Mid March for beta on Object Desktop.

hmm..... i have download the Vista Bootskin but i wonder why no big logo at background ???

I noticed that too. When i changed it to a 4 color bmp it disappeared -_- I'll mess around with it again and see if I can get it to appear.

I can't seem to get the color to appear correctly. I tried various methods, all I get is an ugly dither. Anyone wanna take a shot at getting this picture in 4-bit?

Hmm, the picture is already using 16 colors, but it's not using the default palette of colors, which shouldn't be a problem.

How are you making the .bootskin file? I could give it a shot.
