come on creamhackered: you read the thread title's in the completed styles forum. there are at least 4 'beta' styles out of the top 10. besides most styles are virtually completed but stay in 'beta' until they go final, at which point they aren't editted much. at least that's been my experience. rarely are there versions 2 or 3. unless we are talking a/b watercolor.

hehe who cares, when its finished it can get moved back there ;)

the main purpose of this was that so people could have easy access to a download link, and now they have it.... i hope this doesnt turn into another 27 pager though ;)

looks nice guys, dont burn out....more...lol

edit: nm... keldyn's l33t moving sk33ls zapped in there before i finished replying..

Oh God! No offense But its terrible... When I started using it... I could still see black parts , and parts from the VS i was using right before it...

Otherwise it LOOKS great... Just needs some tweaking... Oh, and it might help to let you know, I am using a Double Height Start Bar...

ummmm it doesnt look good in 1280*1024.... which i believe is a very popular resolution...

Yeah, a popular res that shouldn't be used on CRT monitors (since they use a 3:4 aspec ratio, not a 5:4 like a LCD Monitor (which is what 1280x1024 is meant for), crt monitor users should use 1280x960, otherwise, things are slightly stretched (you cannot get a perfect square shap on a 1280x1024 screen on a 3:4 crt monitor), so many people use it and don't realize their picture is not correct.

Sounds good Deron. Glad ya like it guys. Ya these threads are getting a little silly lately eh? Geesh....

Anyway, I guess I should clear some things up too, seems we have too many silly comments here lately about our themes.

First..... War of the themes?....No...Mine was made simply because I love the look and color scheme of Windows Media Center. And want my theme to co-exist with it, to be a close match as posible to it. I originally started it for myself only, but MCE seems to be popular, so I thought I would release it. Can't speak for the other themers, and won't assume their reasons, but I'm assuming they had the same reason, because they like Microsoft's MCE.

Secondly...People.....use your brains a little.....Beta means BETA...that means lots of bugs, errors and perhaps many other nasty little glitches may be present. Be patient, they'll eventually be fixed. I work in a default of 1600x1200 and told you on the download link that I didnt do it for other resolutions yet. So please don't waste posts by complaining it don't work in your resolution. That's common knowledge I think, and will be addressed in future updates.

Third.....If you like our themes, use them, if you don't like them, don't use em, simple as that. I feel you shouldn't waste everyone's time, including themers as well as fellow forum members, in simply posting rude or idiotic comments.

Lastly, I think the most important....I think it's wise for everyone to remember that all the MCE themes are in no way an original creation. They are mainly made by copying Microsofts MCE, cutting and pasting the real bmps and pngs from the real MCE, maybe adding a few touches of our own and calling it a day. So people need to lighten up a bit, and not take yourselves to damn seriously when it comes to these themes. That goes to everyone, themers, forum members, etc..Everyone needs to relax a little, it's only a theme for C**** sakes.

All the MCE themes have been passed around to many people to work on lately, whoever is still working on mine...great...suggestions, etc are always welcome, and hopefully we can work to make a great final.

All the people using the MCE themes. If you don't like our themes don't use em. Shut the F*** up and make your own if your only gonna wine and complain. Suggestions are one thing, but stupid, mindless comments waste everyone's time, and neowin's bandwidth. Personally, I never have, nor ever will respond to those sorts of comments.

Anyway..great work to all the themers here, Bant, Hyper, Deron, Xero, many others I don't know. Keep up the good work, the other MCE theme looks great as well, comin along dandy guys!L et's hope these themes turn out well!

Peace...

Danimator

well as most of you guys are here ( Danimator, Bant, Deron, Hyperbole ) I kinda made an amalgamated theme of some of the best elements of yours and the default silver luna theme as a base, I always find some parts of themes annoy me ( excel was unusable in some of the dark themes! ) so I made my own from your parts. I admit I borrowed large chunks, but hey it is just for my use, just thought I would show you a screen shot of the adapted theme, soz if ya think I am a stealer of your excellent work, well I am, you can have the style if ya want! it will not go anywhere other than my desktop!! thanks for the excellent work guys, hats off to you! :)

I noticed that too. LOL :jump:

calling Bant and Danimator?!!! hopefully you have read the previous posts, I have made a theme from your great efforts.. is it possible I can get permission to release it? A few people have been asking for it, I am not going to release it without your permission so it rests with you.....

Thanks in advance

P.S I have no idea what to call it? mce smooth? any suggestions?

Latest updated Screenshot below:

Updates are:

Taskbar styles...smooth.. and scroll bars plus various details

SPaCe,

Where can I download your edition of the theme?

Really liked the theme, Danimator! :) Great job.

There are just a few things you should fix, I believe. The taskbar doesn't support 2 lines, and the Close, Minimize and Maximize buttons don't fit the title bar...

And I'd change the font to Tahoma... But that's just me. :)

I've added a screenshot. Notice the colors at the top of the buttons, and the color of the title bar.

Oh, and it's ok when the window is not maximized.

    • Zen Browser 1.21b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. Vertical Tabs: Manage tabs vertically. Container Tabs: Separate browsing sessions. Fast Profile Switcher: Switch between profiles easily. Tab Folders: Organize tabs into folders. Customizable UI: Personalize browser interface. Security Features: Inherits Firefox’s robust security. Fast Performance: Lightweight and optimized for speed. Zen Mods Customization: Deep customization with mods. Quick Access: Easy access to favorite websites. Open Source: Built on Mozilla Firefox with community collaboration. Community-Driven: Active development and feedback from users. GitHub Repository: Contribute and review the source code. Zen Browser 1.21b changelog: New Features Updated to Firefox 151.0.4 Added 'Space Routing', a new feature that allows you to route links to a specific Space. To get started, click on the three dots in your Space name and click on 'Space Routing Settings'. • Windows Server gets DNS over HTTPS (DoH) support by Usama Jawad For the past few months, Microsoft has been previewing DNS over HTTPS (DoH) for Windows DNS Server, touting it as a foundational upgrade for zero-trust enterprise networks. It essentially introduces encrypted, authenticated DNS for the networks rather than transmitting DNS traffic in clear. Now, the company has introduced the general availability (GA) of this feature. The GA of DoH encourages organizations to deploy the solution in production environments without implementing a new client-to-resolver architecture. DoH helps improve the overall security of the network and reduces the risk of spoofing due to its zero-trust design. This is a significant change because pretty much every interaction with the network requires interfacing with DNS. DoH offers several advantages over standard DNS traffic, such as encryption using HTTPS, preventing unauthorized inspection, man-in-the-middle attacks, and traffic analysis. Since it leverages TLS certificates so that clients can verify the identity of the DNS server, it prevents spoofing through this authentication mechanism. Additionally, it's built on the DoH standard defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), which means that it should work with modern RFC 8484-compliant clients. Finally, it integrates into the existing network architecture seamlessly and can even run in parallel with standard DNS, so that customers can migrate to the new technology at their own pace. Microsoft says that in the past few months of preview, DoH has become more stable, and customers can confidently deploy it in production environments with proper guidance. Microsoft has emphasized that migrating to DoH is necessary for organizations that are moving toward zero-trust DNS solutions. Windows clients already support DoH, but the latest availability on Windows Server provides encrypted DNS to all endpoints. The company has also mentioned that "while this release focuses on encrypting client-to-resolver communication, support for encrypted communication between Windows DNS Server and upstream DNS resolvers is planned for a future update." You can follow Microsoft's guidance to deploy DoH here, but keep in mind that you need a Windows Server 2025 installation with the latest Patch Tuesday updates installed.
