JustinTime
Any word on this or MSN Premium 10? MSN Premium 9.5 is pretty lame, no tabbed browsing or other IE7-esque features. Surely they have something planned, I am paying $$ per month for this and want to know where the future lies. Thanks. maxsquared
I don't think there will be a new one (I might be wrong), they do have windows mail live desktop, that's kinda msn premium replacement, plus msn premium has a really disappointed sell, so... Remember msn premium's biggest competier is AOL, and just like always Microsoft want to be everyone, now there is no AOL no more, and the big man for the internet is google, so all new microsoft live service will look up to (copy) google The good thing tho, they finished their vista, so they must have lots developpers free for doing other projects. JustinTime
MSN Premium is an all-inclusive web browser, email, software package. WLM Desktop is more like Outlook. InternalStorm
There is no more need to have a program with everything built in. Windows already comes with Windows Mail, they have Outlook for busineses and premium users, and Internet Explorer and Firefox are the main browsers that everyone uses. I would like to see instead of Windows Live Desktop mail they should just integrate it into Windows Mail so there isn't duplication in the programs. But the stuff they are moving towards with the Windows Live brand, is to compete with Google as stated. Having a totaly seperate software suite for paying customers just won't work when everything is free these days. They have always been free and despite that fact, people still pay and continue to pay for MSN Premium. MSN Premium is more than just a mail program and browser. It also includes up to ten Hotmail Premium enabled accounts, ad-free Windows Live experience including Mail & Spaces, McAfee Security Suite (much talk about OneCare being the successor feature), Webroot SpySweeper, Outlook Connector, and other premium options. There is a market for people that want to pay for premium services. The problem is there seems to be no info about a new version. 9.5 was just released, but it's nothing really new. I hope they announce something soon. earlcaulley
I'm a MSN Premium user. I enjoy how I can read my email, calendar, and address book offline. The Photo Sharing is nice also. yanike
MSN is building it, if you wait, it will come. Yes. There is a MSN 10 not Live, MSN 10 Premium on the way. I will post it when they release it. Who knows... someone might beat me to the punch. yanike
Please don't bump year old topics. Thanks uhhh... I'm just answering the question to the thread. It's better than creating a new thread with the same question that has been asked in this one. Ain't message boards for questions to get answered by others whenever the answer comes along? It's not my fault MSN releases updates yearly. earlcaulley
Hey guys, what version of MSN Premium do you have? Mine was acting strangely, so I unstalled and reinstalled, and now it's 9.60.0053.2200. Not sure if it's an upgrade or if I just never noticed that I was on 9.6 before. I don't see any changes yet. earlcaulley
MSN 9.6 uses a new protocol (DeltaSync) to exchange email with Hotmail. This change is entirely behind the scenes so the look and feel of MSN Mail will stay the same. The very first time you open your mail in MSN 9.6, it may take a little longer than normal to display your messages. After this initial session, your email experience should be the same as it was before. Source Doesn't work very well for me. I delete emails and they simply come back.
