Question for anybody else who has downloaded Dreamscene/DeskScapes:

I'm trying to download the SylockRed deskscape: http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=9&libid=50

The website says the filesize is 382 KB but my download is showing 45.8MB? Any idea what the correct size should be?

The filesize is 45.8 MB. You might be looking at the download limit size for Wincustomize. If you aren't a subscriber you can only download so much, although I wasn't signed in and was able to grab it.

wow dreamscene was using alot of cpu power! I was using the demo file that came with it and it was using about 20% on both my cores (intel core duo)...not to mention its pointless/nausiating(sp) trying to read text

I tried it out on my rig. It ran okey kind of. The video stuttered and it used 80% of one of my cores (Core 2 Quad @ 3.2GHz).. It ran on all 3 of my monitors though just .. badly. I hope the final fixes some of the issues I'm experiencing.

I'm using an 8800GTX and a 7800GT with the new 100.64 drivers on an X64 install.

ok so I thought Windows update was suppose to auto download these updates.. I just checked Windows updates and seen the Junk email filter one, and a USB mouse driver one..

Is it since they are "optional" updates it doesnt download them? Or give me a notification saying they are available?

I've had to turn it off, I use my computer all day about 40% of the time over Remote Desktop and unfortunately DreamScene preview at least doesn't follow the "turn off wallpaper" option in the Remote Desktop client. Hopefully when it's finished they will sort that out.

    • I totally disagree. Very little good comes out of governments all around the world manipulating everything they can and usually the people are not the benefactors. What you say about being restricted and expensive sounds almost like the arguments against firearms and why banning them will protect people as if making something illegal somehow will prevent the criminals from having and using them. AI being far less mainstream could simply mean the average person will not benefit, but "big brother" and the corporations will benefit, which is almost for sure NOT a good thing.

    • "connect with audiences" is the most obvious corporate speak you can think of. I only bought Need for Speed from EA because it was the only racing game with cops in existence and I dig that. Now that they killed off NFS franchise, I have nothing to spend money on. EA is officially dead for me, just like Ubisoft which I've been boycotting for some 20 years now...
