For those who want to change their logons on Windows Vista, the first beta of LogonStudio is available for download:

Uh...kind of a misleading name. Not that I'm unhappy with it, but IMHO it isn't a "studio", which would imply being able to design your own logins with it.

You can use LogonStudio Vista to change the background image and create your own logon. Other features will be added in time, but you can make your own logon.

Timeout for 0.70 changed to July 1, 2007.

-Added support for drag and drop of: images (to the

program, to create a new logon), .logonvista, .logonxp, and Windows

XP logonui.exe's. This is for customizing the background image only atm.

-Added support to drag logon to the Desktop or Explorer to create .logonvista

-Added .logonvista files for use with included Windows Vista wallpapers

-Major increase in image load/thumnail generation speed

-Fix for selection of files with spaces in their names

-Fix for images that were marked read-only

-Optimized restore default logon feature

-Optimized zip dll

-Thumbnails are generated at install time.

-Thumbnail cache file performance optimized

-Warn on trying to load corrupted .logonvista files

Thanks Stardock, now the 0.60a beta is expired I can no longer change my login background! I am stuck with this background. Why only let OJECT Desktop people use the 0.70 beta?

know what i did? i turned my clock in windows back to February so the date says February 25th and the old build of logonstudio vista works fine :)

AFAIK it is now only available via Stardock Central with an Object Desktop subscription, current version is 1.00.02

to use beta, just put your pc date a year back, and you can use it.. change back when done using..

That is not the official release. The new release will be coming along shortly.

Well it looks official and works just fine? I know it may not be final or anything, I just dropped that in cause I happened to visit there to check progress a week or so before seeing that post about how to use the old one, This one installs and works fine no time stuff needs to be done to use it
