temperature gadget?

Recommended Posts

Yeah sure there is. Everest Ultimate edition has a sidebar gadget. download the beta from 9down.com

Maybe you can provide a link? If there is such a gadget and i doubt there is it will be CPU specific. The OP is referring to a gadget for the vista sidebar not another application.

I think the OP is referring to a Vista sidebar gadget not another application.

Dont be so negative  speedfan can view temps from a multitude of CPU's and motherboards, so why can't a gadget? It wouldn't be too difficult to interface a gadget with speedfan's logs, alike other programs do.

I suspect we'll start to see more and more system monitoring gadgets as time goes on. Give the writers of the current programs time to learn how to make good gadgets.

How much in terms of system resouces does the current Everest gadget consume, anyone?

There are actually many many gadgets on the windows website that you can download. Many of them do CPU activity etc but I never saw any for temps. I am sure there is a limit on the file size and it might be impossible to create a tem monitoring utility in a 20kb file.

Yeah. I'm also wondering if the sidebar gallery on MS's sites will encompass every gadget being made. Like Everest, gadgets may start to be "accessories" to existing software packages we're familiar with as developers begin to implement sidebar.

Not all of those are going to appear in the sidebar gallery. . .

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
    • eh I'll wait for the June 2026 MVS ISO downloads which should be coming out next Tuesday June 16 and possibly contain build 8655 instead of 8653
