[Soccer] EPL Shirt Changes for 2007/2008 Season

Recommended Posts

It's never too early to start looking at the new kits that the Premiership clubs will be unveiling this summer for the 20072008 Premier League season.

There's already been a lot of activity, but here's what we know so far:

Arsenal:

Will be keeping their same home shirt, but will be coming out with a new away shirt from Nike.

Aston Villa:

Randy Lerner's club has signed an agreement with Nike to provide new Aston Villa 2007/2008 kits. Goodbye Diadora.

Blackburn:

Rovers will be releasing a new home and away shirt presumably from Lonsdale, but not confirmed.

Bolton:

Reebok is synonymous with Bolton both in the name of their stadium and on their shirts. But, as many of you know, Adidas bought Reebok more than a year ago.

The Reebok shirts are supposed to transition away, but we'll have to see whether Bolton moves to Adidas shirts or not this summer.

Chelsea:

The west London side will be unveiling new away and third shirts this summer. There's a possibility that the design of them may resemble the Adidas template design (pictured above). Adidas typically sticks to one template for all the clubs that wear Adidas, so it's possible that Chelsea will release a design similar to this (but with a different color palette obviously).

Liverpool:

The Reds will unveil a new home and away shirt this summer, which may also resemble the Adidas template design pictured above.

Manchester City:

The rumors are that Manchester City will be switching from Reebook to Le Coq Sportif jerseys this summer, although their current home shirt is supposed to be used through the 2007/2008 season.

Manchester United:

Both 2007/2008 Manchester United kits for home and away will change this summer to a new design from Nike.

Newcastle United:

Newcastle is scheduled to unveil new home and away shirts this summer from Adidas.

Tottenham Hotspur:

The 2007/2008 Spurs jersey, for home and away, will be unveiled this summer.

West Ham United:

After a long relationship with Reebok, West Ham United will be wearing new home and away shirts this summer from Umbro.

*sigh* great Umbro in Championship...

Not many clubs will change, there is a rule something like where you have to have the same home shirt for at least 2 seasons.

I remember pompey got stung with a fine because they changed the shirt too early.

You know any more on this rule?

I have never heard of that rule...I just read that and thought cool...some of the clubs there like Spurs only changed it this season I thought...with a Gold Kit...:s

I thought that rule was for all kits, not just home kits. That's what the 3rd kits are for, so for example:

In the first year you have a new home kit & new away kit.

Then in the second year you have the same home kit, a new away kit, and the old away kit goes to the 3rd kit.

Then in the third year you get a new home kit, a new away kit, and last years away kit goes to the 3rd kit.

That way, you can introduce two new kits and still get by the 2-year rule by using last years away kit as the 3rd kit.

If the 2-year rule is true then most of the post from that blog is totally incorrect...

I really like the current Arsenal away kit, Nike always seem to make nice football shirts. (I'm not an Arsenal Fan)

Yeah I like it...but I think we are allowed to like other teams kits...I remember I bought a Real Madrid shirt a few years back because I liked it...also I want to buy a Lyon Shirt...lol

I was gonna pick up the Brazil away shirt but my friend got one the other week so might go for something else. Just found the Argentina home shirt is going for ?12.99 here so might get that. I don't really buy football shirts so don't know where to look, do you know of any good online shops?

I don't quite like it when they change they home shirts every season as it's demeaning to the fans. I like to get a few jerseys here and there when I have the budget for it. I've got Inter Milan, Hertha Berlin, Valencia, England, Holland and Man United jerseys in my collection. I was a bit sad though that I couldn't pick up the current Germany jersey as I have virtually no money. I also like the colours of Olympique de Marseille but it's quite hard to get it here in Malaysia.

i doubt liverpool will release a brand new home kit, they normally change every two years, so in the 09/10 season we *should* see the new home kit, but they'll probably change the away kit, then let that go on the 2 year rotation, like the england kit does.

I really liked Arsenal's maroon home kit from last year. It looked so much better than their usual red and white.

Supposed to be cranberry.

It was awful.

Their yellow one couple of seasons ago was great.

I liked their blue and green one from the 80's, that was great.

I would prefer Arsenal home to be red and white, but lose all that nasty trim.

I don't think Arsenal's is going to change either.

It says in the first post that according to the article."Arsenal:

Will be keeping their same home shirt, but will be coming out with a new away shirt from Nike."

Yea I agree, I hated it at first but it grew on me.

    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.

    • We do it all the time on our IT Service desk mailbox to add a reference, in the subject line, once it's been logged and then it's filed into the appropriate sub-folder. Other companies probably do the same thing.
    • "No. The "New Outlook for Windows" does not support non-cloud mailboxes (such as on-premises Exchange servers). Furthermore, because the New Outlook effectively functions as a web-based client, it requires all connected accounts—even standard IMAP or POP accounts—to route and cache data through Microsoft's cloud servers. You can verify the accepted account setups using the Microsoft Supported Account Types Guide." Built to fail "New" Outlook is basically just webmail in a window wrapper and it's usefulness reflects that.
