don't get anything from siig, i had it and it wasn't compatible with windows xp, but there was a sticker on the front that sait that it did

how large is this new hard drive you are installing?

if its larger than 127GB you'll need a ATA Controller card, this is, if you don't have a new mobo, if you're mobo is really old, then get it anyway for the higher ATA Speed.

NO!!!!!!!!!!

i had that, drivers corrupt windows

i did some testing with the verifier.exe (type veryfier in run)

it checks if the drivers are fine

and i did test on the siig driver, and i keept getting bsod. that adapter is not fully compatible
