Glassed Silver
Still no webcam support... this is actually pretty LAME. I'm sick of having to use Proteus in order to get pretty much all Windows WLM features lol. I know, the Mac version will always be the light one, but dudes... WEBCAM, this is such a BASIC feature for a messenger nowadays. Messenger 6 was only meant for quick Universal Support and some other minor modifications. Even though Messenger 6:mac lacks audio and webcam support I very much prefer it over de crap they released for Windows. temple_treefrog
So has anyone noticed any differences? The screenshots look identical to 6.0.1 to me. I haven't noticed any differences with the aesthetics, however the program feels more responsive and stable than Messenger for Mac 6.0.1. bit off topic but i've never understood how messenger for mac looks great but for windows it looks crap, and how windows version has adds and mac version doesnt! just crazy. Yeah I've always thought that. Even though Messenger for Mac lacks many Windows Live Messenger features, it sure looks better. Southern Patriot
PS: The HDD in your Mac is never Apple branded.its WD! ;) Care to put some money on that? Admittedly, this one is from a G3 iMac, but I think that if you look at the OEM hard drive that comes in most Macs, you'll see that Apple logo on them, thus they are "Apple Branded", even though they are made by various companies. Xtreme $niper
I want offline messages and roaming display pictures. Roaming display pictures? What's that? I don't recall anything like that being on even the Windows version. And as for offline messages, Microsoft Messenger sometimes lets you accidentally send and receive offline messages. You can't start them, but if someone offline messages you first, it seems to work fine. x5315
hey, everybody. i didn't notice anything from 6.0.1. Does kizzaaa mean dynamic display pictures like on wlm for pc? Also, i'd like to see some sort of system so that your iTunes album art becomes your display picture. Something like http://www.msgstuff.com/downloads/file/76/ but for mac. Thoughts? Something like http://www.msgstuff.com/downloads/file/76/ but for mac. Thoughts? When I saw this thread in the recent forum entries, I thought a new version of Messenger was released. Windows Live Messenger 8.1This version was released from Microsoft on January 29, 2007. New features include improvements for Windows Vista compatibility, roaming Display Pictures and Personal Messages (which means that the Display Picture is stored on Windows Live servers and will not change if you log in from another computer). Roaming Identity - Display Names and Pictures can be saved so they are the same on each computer you sign into. Xtreme $niper
Ah, that's kind of nifty... But most of the time the change of display picture is what lets people know that your location has changed (usually, if they don't have a laptop). Yeah I have actually started to notice this as well. At first I thought it was crashing as usual, but since installing Safari 3 beta, I've noticed it even more.
