Recommended Posts

Why the hell cant I play games while it downloads demo's and stuff from the Playstation store?

Resistance: Fall Of Man seems like a great game so far and Fight Night is one of my favs anyway so I'm content for the time being, I just wonder how long it is now until some good games start showing up!

Yeah not being able to have the download in the background is a bit crappy but they promised to change that in the next update, but god knows when that will come! You should check out RFOM online its very fun to play :) i was thinking of getting Fight Night aswell but never got around to it! Some Demos you should check out is MotorStorm, Full Auto, GT HD, Genji( i dont like it, but u might :p )

Think the 360 does the same thing, but thats if your playing on Live.

Wait a few more months, then Sony will have some waters coming out of the floodgates.

Yeah, if you connect to Live on any game, it will pause your download, but that's a intended feature, since it dedicates all your bandwidth to Live. When you finish playing Live, the download continues. You can do everything else while it downloads, however.

I'm sure Sony will add this feature, I mean, it'd be silly not to.

Yeah I'm already downloading half of em lol!

Only trouble is, you cant even use the rest of the menu while the download is happenin! On the 360 you can. And you can even play games offline, but to start with 360 had the same problem, they will fix it in an update I have faith...

And yehh, gonna try resistance online later! Shud be fun! Fight Night is a blast! GO GET IT!

Yeah, but all games connect to Live, which makes downloading while doing SP impossible. :(

thats why when your downloading demos play your old demos, madden 07 demo is great for this, you can play two games or so, and they are fast and entertaining because you only get 1 minute quarters, but by the time your done your download is too..

so you bought a ps3 and you don't have any games you really like? Nice way to spend your money

This I why I can't understand why people are getting their PS3's now. At least wait a revision or two to be sure there's no problems with the launch models (and this isn't a stab at PS3, probably every console ever made has had at least one or two problems with the initial models), especially considering there isn't many games at the moment.

:D Cant wait to get mine, its on pre-order. I'm buying the console only, not bundled with games. Any you guys recommend?

RFOM and Motorstorm will start you off well :)

I cant wait for the Euro launch at last i'll be able to buy Ps3 games in the UK instead of importing :D woo no long waits! I lookin forword to gettin my hands on loads of the new games on the way heavenly sword is one of them, Rainbow Six, GRAW 2, Oblivion, Def Jam, LAIR etc..

Although there haven't been any major issues in North America and Japan so far :) Furthermore, any issues that have been reported are nothing like the Xbox 360 disaster.

So why did you buy it? Surely you should have researched what titles would be available, and if none of them appealed to you then you shouldn't have bought the PS3 at all. I think it's silly to buy it and then complain that you bought it, knowing the situation with launch titles.

Not all games support background downloading (Singleplayer) - SaintsRow for one

Not all games support background downloading (Singleplayer) - SaintsRow for one

Some games have a bit of a bug. For some reason or another despite being in single-player, they tell the 360 there's going to be live multi-player (which the 360 will then pause any downloads to maintain optimal bandwidth). It's not really a factor of which games support it or not, it's just some games contain that bug.

The PS3 Firmware update in March (27th I think) will allow multitasking, and let you download while playing a game, with every firmware update the PS3 gets that much better. I just wish there were more game demos to download. Ah well, ina years time the PS3 will be very different than it is now.

I don't understand why people are in such a huge rush for the ps3. I mean honestly.

There is a guy i work with who around christmas was trying to decide which he wanted to get, the 360 or the ps3. Well he finally decided on the ps3 because he has a ps2 and still enjoys those games. Well, his gf went every damn day for probably a month to look for a ps3 and finally got one before christmas and gave it to him...you know what he uses it for? to watch blu-ray movies. He actually came in the one day and was like I got COD3, that game is sweet, but there are absolutely no other games out that i want. I looked at him and flat out said "why the hell was it such a big deal that you got the ps3 when you did?"

He just looked at me and didn't know what to say.

People with enough money have to be buying the system with completely blind fanboyism. The fact that he walked into work and flat out said there are no good games for it just totally floored me. The only reason this is selling is because it has the word "Playstation" in the name. He even said all he does is play his ps2 still. He doesn't even attempt to use the ps3 to play them.

For whoever bought the system, good for you. I hope you enjoy it. But honestly what rock has so many people been under to think that the ps3 was/is worth getting right now or even a few months ago?

This is not meant to be a flame of any sort. I used to be one of those people with a ps2 who totally hated the xbox without even playing it. I just don't know how people can spend so much money on something that is proven to have very few games even worth owning right now.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
