AutoPatcher XP February 2007

I have a question. I have noticed that the Turn On Num Lock Key does not work anymore. I have installed Autopatcher XP on different computers like HP, Gateway and clone PCs to see if there is any difference from each other, but non of them work. The Num Lock Key used to come ON at the welcome screen or whichever screen the user has it customized to, but it doesn't do it anymore.

Any idea?

I have looked at the registry value and its there and all the PCs.

Thanks

/EZ

edit: If I remember correctly I believe the value key used to be under HKCU\Control Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators with a value of 2, or am I wrong?

AutoPatcher XP is supposed to include Adaptec ASPI as one of the add-ons. Either I'm blind, or it's simply not present. Can anyone else find Adaptec ASPI under 'Windows Addons'?

I'm using AutoPatcher XP Full, up-to-date as of February 2007.

IIRC, after my installation of the aforementioned, it didn't show up in AP anymore, but YMMV.

Do you think people here care if you are going to become a former Autopatcher user?

Do you think that the creators are going to stop Autopatcher because you are leaving?

The answer is simple....NO.

If you don't like it, dont use it, its very simple. Sometimes people download programs, install them, the system stops responding, and then quickly complaint that the program did this to my PC, the program did that to my PC. Some people do not have the knowledge to download and install programs. Also, NEVER download a program and install it on your main PC. Get yourself another PC to test.

The creators are spending a lot of their time to make Autopatcher, and people like you do not value their work.

Just needed to vent.

Now that was cruel. I like that.

P. S. Keep up the good work AP team.

Hello and congratsulations to all the people behind AP. I am looking for the greek AP and the link below does not work, my firefox 2.0.0.3 says "Server not found". Are there any other mirrors, or maybe torrents for this? I quickly browsed the AP download page and did not find any mirrors for the greek version. Thanks in advance for this, BE WELL!

AutoPatcher Greek Feb07 ready!

OK, I complained about this before, I think it's ridiculous that a full version has not released since November, enough patches and updates have been released since then to justify a full update. Carrying around 4 CDs so I can update a box is a bit ridiculous. There are enough mirrors and torrent seeds available that taxing someones bandwidth isn't a big deal. The difference between downloading a 80Mb and 300+Mb file is not a big deal to most of us either, broadband is widely available and if your complaining that you don't have broadband and need smaller downloads, then just use Windows Update or find someone who does...

an unhappy and soon to be former Autopatcher user....

What a jerk - Doesn't he realize he just needs to DL November then apply the subsequent releases to the already installed directory. Burn one CD once a month (the old one is probably all scratched by then anyway) and then you only have 1 CD you have to carry. If you want there would be ample space for other stuff like iTunes, AVG, doPDF, Acrobat Reader, Spybot, Ccleaner etc, etc.

If you are such an experienced tech these things should not be so hard to figure out. Better yet, if burning a cd is cumbersome but it on a thumb drive or a portable hard drive.

I love it when constructive critisism and my opinion turns into a flame war... I state my opinion and people just turn around and attack me... Goes to show that most people (like you) don't value others opinions.

And by the way... i'm not some ignorant end user, as you have assumed... I have been in IT for 16+ years and hold more certifications than my business cards can even hold...

Translation: I am dumb as a rock and have more bandwidth than I know what to do with. We could expect these "opinions" from novice starters, Not seasoned IT Professionals. I Think all the "16+ years and hold more certifications than my business cards can even hold..." have gone to your head. You will get no sympathy on this issue from these forums.

Come back when you have a solution to share.

When i try to install full version November 2006, after installatio when i try to load modules i have this warning message: Run time error '53?-file not found, and i can't install autopatcher.HELP? (Windows XP SP, freshly installed).

Use the May release. Available via Bittorrent (click the lovely image in my sig :)) or through HTTP if you wanna wait until the links are posted :)

    • Alien Isolation 2 will bring a new protagonist and setting, watch the reveal trailer here by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Only a few weeks ago, Sega and Creative Assembly dropped a teaser for a new Alien Isolation. Today at Summer Game Fest, Alien: Isolation 2 was officially announced with a new trailer while also confirming a whole lot of information about the setting of this survival horror project. Check out the reveal trailer above. Leaving behind the Sevastopol space station, the sequel will take players to a remote colony world. With a Xenomorph (or more) on the loose, players will be navigating both the surface of the weather-ravaged planet as well as "the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station." Interestingly, Creative Assembly is leaving behind Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Alien's Ellen Ripley, as the protagonist too. While it hasn't confirmed a name yet, players will be taking the role of a new character for this new adventure. The setting is also being described as a new hunting ground for the Alien. This will have players improvising and developing new tools to aid in their survival and escape, all to avoid "cinema’s deadliest killer." "It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel," says Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly. "Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer." Promising the same deadly tension from the original from over a decade ago, Alien: Isolation 2 is in development for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced yet.

    • Like the article stated, it's written completely from scratch, unlike the umpteen Chromium clones. It got its start as the browser built-in to the also written-from-scratch SerenityOS.
    • Hello, From looking at the screen shots in your motherboard's manual at https://endownload.colorful.cn/EnDownload/MotherBroard/2022/Intel 600/Manual/Intel 600 Series BIOS English/Intel 600 Series BIOS User Guide.pdf, you go to the ADVANCED option at the top of the BIOS (UEFI) menu, then select SECURITY in the list of options on the left.  From there  you can enable and set the Secure Boot mode.
