Any Multi-Desktop Fuction or addon?

The thing that turns like a cube is compiz/beryl, and it's only available for Linux, not OSX.

There is something like that on the Mac. On OS X there's VirtueDesktops that does this & Leopard will have it built in (called Spaces),but I don't know of anything on Windows to do this.

Well, there's something LIKE that for all operating systems. However, the specific example he gave was from Linux, not OSX. For Windows, there are many options:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx (Virtual Desktop Manager)

http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net/

http://www.shelltoys.com/virtual_desktop/

http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtual-desktop/

http://www.stardock.com/products/vwm/

http://www.dexpot.de/index.php?lang=en

The Microsoft one (first link) is very basic and offers very little functionality, but works well otherwise. The Stardock one (fifth one) I can confirm is really good. And the last one I can confirm works in Vista (and works well, I might add).

However, as of now, the fancy cube effects you witnessed are available for Linux only.

No. My brother bought a new mac, and he has the multi changeable desktop, as shown on linux, i've seen both with my two eyes. But thanks for the infomation on the other urls.

I stand corrected. I just googled it, and now I see what you're talking about.

I misunderstood you. The cube in Compiz/Beryl is much more than a transition effect like in what I've seen available for OSX. I thought you meant that this cube feature I was familiar with was available in OSX, which (to the best of my knowledge) it isn't. I totally didn't think that you were referring to just a transition animation. I'm sorry.

Anyways, the last link I posted already has some basic animation effects. I'm sure that if they continue to develop it, with Vista's new DWM capabilities the cube effect you were talking about will be possible.

It'll still be quite a while for the Compiz/Beryl cube to be available for Vista though... although that seems like something Stardock might do.
