This is a complete failure. LUNA for VISTA?????????? Fail, just fail. Watercolor from Whistler would have been awesome but luna is just a failure.

Speaking of failures. Only a "failure" would make a point of posting on a thread that obviously doesn't interest him and then berate the thread starter.

Failure - Loser

I notice this theme (which looks quite nice) is an .exe. Can I use this if I already have WindowBlinds 5.5 installed? Do I need to unload WindowBlinds or can I just download it and install?

it is not for windows blind it can be used without it u can just drag and drop it in WinRAR and extract the files and read the instructions in it !!

No need to yell !!

I'm fully aware that it's not for WindowBlinds, that's why I asked about any conflicts or if I should unload WB. And it's an .exe, there are no "instructions".

i have to say also that screwing around with those .dll files has effected my registry and i had to to do a system restore to get my themes working again. i think i will wait awhile till either microsoft comes out with some proper vista themes or the user created themes have a different install method as the changing of the .dll files is shonky and cause corruption....

I must admit that I like this theme very much (Not a vista user but I just had to have look)

You have done a good job with making it. I would feel alot more "home" if I used it and alot easier to find stuff. Personally I think the default(black theme) is way to dark and I kinda like the blue in Windows XP. (but I hate the startbutton to bits).

This would be a clear choice for me if I used vista.

(..windowsblinds port I really would like (want to use it on XP)

i have not tried it yet, but this seems to be able to give me a real comfortable "at home" feeling... the blue and green... very nice!

Well you need to be carefull with what you mod in your system. Remeber those DLLs are patched. Try "googling" for a newer uxtheme.dll patch version I don't know if it exist. That might fix your problem... I had some kind of problem with my girlfriend's PC and she has the same version I have (Ultimate) when all of a sudden the start menu wouldn't render anything but a squared trasparent box with no buttons and program icons.. So i had to do a system restore as well. Then I reapplied the patch and it worked fine...

I think that would only happen if you forget one out of the 3 dlls you are suppose to replace.

Im glad to see yall like it :)

OH also minimaxa, make sure the LunaVista folder is named "LunaVista" nor "Aero" or "Luna Vista" with a space, for it won't work like that.

I forgot to mention ....

please rate my work ....

lol (a moth later...) thanks :)

thanks Jazket

lunavista is up and running and seems stable. i had the same issue with lost/blank icons with the classic skin as you although i'm running vista home premium it was the uxtheme error im sure. i reinstalled the uxtheme patch and had to move the lunavista msstyles to the first entry in its folder for personalisation to recognise, now i have numerous vista aero and basic entries from other vista msstyles i have dl'd (would be nice if someone knows an edit trick to change the names so personalisation shows them?)

can you tell us did you use windowsblinds 5.5 then skinstudio to create or what other program and did you create them in vista or do you have to switch back to xp for creation?

i have seen a few vista styles which are mock ups which look wicked i want to try and create these to release so i just want the best method to start creating them.

thanks!

This comes up in Appearance box as an extra Windows Aero option, why does is not come up as LunaVista?

Yeah, happens to all Vista themes so far. I tried to edit the title in Reshacker, but it is not the same as in XP. Anyone know how to edit the name that appears?

Oh what did I use?

PE Explorer, and Photoshop. :)

It was all done under Windows Vista. The reason why, I had to constantly copy-paste the contents of the theme into the Resource and reload to re-test, because for some reason, the color management in Windows Vista is not the same as in Windows XP anymore. So that blue color that looks kind of like "Sour Blue" is really a "Cian Blue" under XP. It is exactly the same blue color used on XP's original Luna, but look how different it appears under Vista.

Also most of the stuff I do on Photoshop are displayed using "Adobe color management" and once I export to PNG or anything else, It is displayed using Vista color management which changes every color drasticly

I don't know what the heck...

Also there is a file called STREAM.PNG which contains the Aero effects. I've been trying the effects of the window buttons in a different color other than red and blue (you know the glow-fade effect? yeah...) Also the background used for rendering Aero is also there, its a big pasted image to the right. Change this to whatever you want and you can have nice backgrounds under the transparency of Windows Aero. Pretty badass

    • IBM reveals sub-1nm chip technology, production expected in another 5 years by Pradeep Viswanathan TSMC is now leading the chip manufacturing industry with its 2nm-class process node called N2. Samsung Foundry also has a 2nm-class process node called SF2. TSMC says N2 entered volume production in Q4 2025. Samsung says SF2 started mass production in 2025. Today, IBM announced the world’s first sub-1-nanometer chip technology, marking another major semiconductor research milestone. The new technology is based on a 0.7nm, or 7-angstrom, node and uses a new transistor architecture called “nanostack.” The new design vertically stacks and staggers nanosheet-based transistors so that more components can fit into the same chip area while also improving performance and power efficiency. IBM claims that this new sub-1nm chip can pack nearly 100 billion transistors onto a chip the size of a fingernail. This offers almost twice the density, up to 50 percent higher performance, or 70 percent better energy efficiency when compared to IBM's 2nm node design announced back in 2021. Also, IBM mentioned that this new architecture can deliver 40 percent SRAM scaling. It is important to consider that this announcement from IBM is a research milestone rather than a near-term process node launch. Back in 2021, IBM unveiled the world’s first 2nm chip design, claiming 50 billion transistors on a fingernail-sized chip and major performance and efficiency gains. Five years later, IBM’s 2nm technology has still not entered mainstream commercial production. That is because IBM is no longer a major commercial chip manufacturer. It sold its chip manufacturing business to GlobalFoundries years ago and has since then focused only on semiconductor research, IP development, and partnerships. To productize its 2-nm chip technology, IBM partnered with Japan’s Rapidus, but it has not resulted in anything shipping at scale. IBM says that its new sub-1nm technology can reach production as early as within the next five years. If that happens, it will likely depend on manufacturing partners, advanced EUV tooling, and years of yield improvements.
    • It's funny when thieves accuse other thieves of stealing. Ai companies just blatantly siphoned all the knowledge of the internet without consent and are now selling it with their service... so excuse me if I find this a bit ironic.
